Imagine going into your bosses office and saying...look mate, I want a raise and a pretty fucking tasty one to....Boss says, eh? on your bike mate!.....fine, I ain't working until you pay it! lol

Its mad, in the footballing world the employees (players) have more power than employer (Club)

Goes to show you how down the shoot football has gone - certainly in this respect anyway.
I´m sick of it too. I am starting to think that you should have the possibility to fire players. You must have legitimate reasons of course. One not showing up for work should be legitimate reasons. If a player is fired he should be banned from professional football for 2 years as an example.

Would move power back from player to club...

I don't understand why everyone is angry with Bale.

He pays a fortune to his advisors - I have no doubt that he is doing everything that they are advising him to do, I doubt very much he has the intelligence to make decisions for himself. This would be the case throughout all of this debacle.

If you pay someone to advise you and you ignore that advice, then you're a bigger fool. Yes, I get that he is employed by Tottenham, but Tottenham's only concern is what is best for Tottenham, not what is best for Bale. I support Tottenham, not Bale (or any individual player), but I do understand why he is allegedly doing what he is doing.

As for Gordon Taylor, he is the player union, why anyone would expect him to not side with the player is laughable. Plus he's probably got a £10k on Bale leaving (see The Sun's front page about Taylor's betting problems if you don't get that).

So I turned on SSN to find the yellow banners saying he won't return to Tottenham while Chris Coleman is on their saying he's a nice boy and he's "grounded." well it fucking looks like it don't it?

Erik Lamela is in the house, ladies and gents.
And you know what, Spurs fans, this can only be a good thing. Spurs have pretty much sealed the deal on £30m Erik Lamela, and he is seen as a potential replacement for Gareth Bale.
That leaves the door open for Bale to have his wish and go to Madrid, which puts an end to this whole sorry saga and means that Tottenham will have a whopping amount of money back in their bank account. Potentially having time to bring a couple more players into the hold.
This is the start of the end of what has been an intense transfer window!

The clubs has to show that they are firm regardless of who is the player. If Bale is suppose to train and doesn't show up, fine him. If he refuse to turn up, double the fine and tell him if he doesn't respect the club, his teammates and the fans, he will not get his move. He is on contract and he must respect the contract he signed with his own hands willingly. He must be made to realize that we are not at his mercy.

Your boss can't just sell your contract to another employer either. Contracts are just insurance policies for clubs really and in return, players get the power of the media.

They can't in football either. "selling a contract" requires the players consent. This is the problem we've had with Jenas, Bentley, Huddlestone. and Chelsea had with Winstone Bogarde etc.

from the Mirror's live blog.

"
Erik Lamela is in the house, ladies and gents."

Anyone able to confirm if this is even remotely true?

I think you need to stop watching SSN and believing it as fact. Talkport talked to his agent yesterday and said there is no dispute, AVB gave him the ok to miss training. It's more likely he's being told by the club to stay away until it's over, don't want him affecting the team with the big derby this Sun.

Your giving credit to what an agent says??? Of course, he's going to say his player isn't acting like a fuckwit.

Seriously can't believe taylor.

Spend more time worrying about the 19/20 year olds released without a club to go to, than players already on £100k a week. (banned word)

All we can do now is put complete faith in Daniel Levy to do what's best Tottenham.
This is turning into a circus. I nearly fell off the sofa when listening to Balague last night.
He said that Madrid would be lowering their fee because it would upset Ronaldo!!!
Who knows what is an acceptable fee for Bale.
But whatever fee was set by Levy he better damn sure stick to it...

Look none of us know for sure why Bale isn't training, it could be injury, it could be a protest or it could be Spurs telling him to stay away.

Although I have a problem with the latter, some of you have suggested we have given him time off to avoid a media frenzy, but if anything it is making it worse! The papers are just assuming he is refusing to train.

I just want this sorted, lets not bash him too much. He has given me a couple of good years and some brilliant memories. And we may well be stronger with out him, financially and on the pitch.
