Even though I knew it was coming and I had prepared myself for it, I still feel pretty down now that it's actually happened :(

I called this in may but was told to grow up. My words are we'll be so much better off with £80m+ in the pocket. I was shot down.

Good luck Gareth, best player I've seen in the flesh at the lane. Wish you all the best, please never play for United!

Gutted...of course knew it was coming but still gutted.
Don't blame him for wanting to go, do blame him for acting like a b**** about it though. Disrespectful.

That being said...I do think I'll miss him more than anything else though. Really thought he was born to play for spurs - our long overdue superstar to propel us into the next level. Others will do I guess but all the shiny new additions aint filling the void in my heart just yet.

Real Madrid spent so much money on the transfer that they couldn't afford to get his shirt printed.

So they asked a child to draw his name and number on instead:

Gutted. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. All the best in Madrid. And please come back when we move into our new stadium.

:( Good luck Bale, quite sad that you're leaving us, but on the bright side hopefully we won't have to see that picture of you in that stupid pink t-shirt and cap.

Love you, bye.

I posted after the espanyol game that I thought he was a gonna. The lack of anything to do with Bale at WHL was amazing. Our most valuable asset not modelling the new kit on any of the posters to me just made it obvious. But I got a few neg replies as well. I think it just comes down to how people interpret info and deal with it!

Personally I just think it was inevitable. I posted earlier that I think it was decided strategically at the meeting in the Bahamas. We had just come up short on top 4. We were consistent challengers rather than consistent top 4 finishers. I think the top level board members decided to sacrifice bale for the good of the squad and uncle joe agreed to guarantee the funds. He then left levy to do what he does best and get the best deal from real.

That's my two pence worth anyway

I expected him to stay for another year before the window opened so ignored alot of the early news. Once it got to the point where nobody had a clue whether he was coming or going i got bored of the whole saga and made myself not get worked up over it until there was some actual news. Because it's been in the news for awhile now I'm not emotional about it, if it had come out of the blue then I'd deffo feel it then.

Just saw the West Ham winner and the hug with AVB. :-(

That's the picture we all fell in love with and HOPED would make a difference to anyone that came calling.........but obviously RM was the wrong club to show some interest.....

If it had been any other club than RM, hand on heart I believed he would've stayed...as his relationship with AVB up until then was perfect............. it was sad watching AVB being interviewed about Gareth, because you could see it in his face that he was losing him....

Even my wife turned to me and said "thank f*ck, it's about time!"
Dragged on a bit... Glad it's over, but not glad he's gone- brilliant player!
But I don't think he's the player that Madrid think they are getting though - he'll not get the free role that he got with us - and the press will be on his back in heart beat when he doesn't get 30 odd goals a season - genuinely hope he does well though.
