What happened to our "special relationship" with RM?

They took the players they wanted at the time, and then it ended.

I also think we had coaches go over there and learn and vice versa, but nothing much else in our benefit.

If he’s keen and isn’t asking for astronomical money then I’d be all for it. As an alternate CF to rest Kane, to play off of Harry to rest Son, to be an impact sub… he definitely still has value to bring. When allowed to play during his loan stint he showed he still has the instincts and the technique in spades.

I don't care about the finances tbh, I'll leave that up to Levy and Paratici.

If Conte wants him then yes please.
If Conte doesn't want him then No thanks.

It really is as simple as that for me, and is that simple for any player we sign.

For me, the important factor is the length of contract. Bale on 1-2 years is fine. But the last thing we want is ageing players on long contracts with high salaries if their performance goes down for the last couple of seasons.

I don't think Bale would be looking for a long contract so it would likely come down to whether Conte wants him and whether Bale wants to come to us.

How much you wanna bet -- now that Coco has gone, and Bryan is away -- they're keeping that Number 11 shirt available ... ?

He'd started to show glimpses of what he could do after 6 months into his loan spell but I'd rather not sign guys who are injured so often, esp someone who takes time to get his sharpness back.
I had a similar outlook until I was reminded by what Bale can do... His a match winner and we need those.
