One point worth considering is if we get him on a one year deal he likely won’t be on £300k a week this time.

As he had that contract at Real he continued to earn that. This time he’ll be a free agent.

Not sure on the source quality - Spanish publication Nacional:

Bale to return in the summer, English translation below:

I would love him back personally.
Would be good to have him on a short term deal then judge his performance and fitness each year.

Yep, I’d happily take him on a year deal, great sub, and a quality player still when fit. I want him to have a proper final season with fans in our new place.

Fails the sniff test without even a thought. Zero chance Conte wants him. Always something with his injury record. And would blow the wage structure.

If you think he could demand the sort of wages he was getting at Madrid at his age and after hardly playing for two years you need a reality check. If he stays in Europe it's because he still wants to play at the highest level and not for the money. He'd earn far more in a second rate league like the the UAE or the US.

Was v quiet with anything Bale related in the last window. Considering he’s free in the summer you’d have thought there would have been a snifter of interest, from anyone.

thus I conclude. 3 means the boy is back for his 3rd stint.

you’re welcome.

Full-time starter? I doubt it. As a super sub/senior player for cup matches where the younger players are involved, and as a dressing room presence who's been to the top of the game? We'd be hard pressed to find better.

If he can still offer us something then we would be silly not to. Go find a player of his calibre who would come in and be a squad player. He knows he isn't going to start every game and his body wouldn't be able to cope with that. But if he can have the impact he did for us last season, then its an easy yes for me. Plus yeah would be nice to get him back with a full stadium and be a positive influence on the younger squad members.

I don't see how he's a 'Conte player' though, I wouldn't say he was hard working or someone that will press or track back?

I hope Conte isn't that rigid. His tactical performance so far suggests he isn't.

An experienced player who can offer goal threat and a career full of winning can be used as a flat track bully, super sub or just in a game where we need a goal threat.

Levy will make it work financially. There must be some major sponsorships.
