Also he has played at Inter previously, so maybe has further ties to the city. Him and Romagnoli with Conti and Rodriguez, as well as Donamurra in goal is a decent defence.

I hadn't realised Poch's one time CB target Mateo Musacchio moved from Villareal to Milan in May.

I'm not sure quite how well he recovered from an appalling injury, but he passed his medical to sign in Italy.

I wonder why we weren't in for him, given the reported transfer fee was only 18 million Euros, and we've allegedly been quoted £30 million for Mawson and the likes of Keane and Maguire have gone for silly money.
I think you've answered your own question, injures. Wasn't just one appalling injury he's had a few bad ones. Missed a ton of games for Villarreal. So it would've been a real risky signing.

There was a rumour of us sounding our interest about 2 weeks ago I think, but I have heard nothing else since. Swansea's price for Mawson is about 22 Million.

I know clement rates Onomah so if we do deal can see him going on loan there,

Also Ben Davies has actually been using Swansea's gym to keep fit in the summer apparently.
I assume he owns a nice place on the Gower somewhere, so that makes sense.

Can anyone tell me why Juve would sell one of the best defenders in the world (Bonucci) to Milan? And have Milan suddenly got money again?

I believe Bonucci had a falling out with the coach. Italian teams don't seem to have the same stigma about selling to rivals as teams in England.

Milan is now owned by Li Yonghong who bought them in April for ~£650m. They seem to have money now that he is in charge.

It would be good to see Milan back

He fell out big time with Allegri. It's been happening over a few months, he doesn't agree with some of Allegri's decisions and tactics. CL final was the final straw apparently, as Bonucci felt Allegri failed to do anything to counter Real's threats and that his tactics played into their hands. Yes, both Inter and AC Milan have got a fair amount of money behind them, particularly AC Milan after Berlusconi sold them to a mega rich Chinese business. They're trying to rebuild.

As much as I'd like to see competition, my initial thoughts are "no, fuck them". For me, it's like seeing Liverpool become a major player again. Not as bad as Inter Milan, at least. AC have at least had some genuine success and deserved it.

I don't support either side but growing up in Bedford you will obviously meet a lot of Italians who are either Calabrians or Sicilans and the two most common teams they support are AC or Juve so seeing both sides back and competing for me is plus for football. I know Italian football has took a bit of a hammering over the last decade but it looks like Serie A is turning the corner.

Rumours saying that Chelsea are getting desperate for a striker and will offer £65m for Aubameyang. Would make them much more dangerous than if they would have gotten Lukaku imo.

£65m wouldn't get anywhere near that signing

Seeing today that Wesley Sneijder is a Free Agent...33 Years Old, always liked the guy, Playing at Galataseray I cannot imagine he is taking masses of wages...

Deep-lying playmaker, what a signing that could be for 2 years, imagine what Winksy could learn there.

Played 40 times last year for Gala so still fit enough. Man Utd just made Carrick Captain, so as much as I love our Onas on youth, I think experience and a winning mentality (trophies etc) is important in a team...

Just a little weekend thought...

I remember reading he was on 250k-300k a week at Galatasary, think foreign players get special tax status....
