Bit of a nothing signing this. After Guimares, Tonali and others this doesn't feel like it's on the same level. Something very Everton about it.
How so?Well that should be Henderson’s England career over with, I don’t see how Southgate can ever pick him again.
They are essentially trading ASM for Barnes - how much of an actual upgrade is that?38m is insane money for Barnes. Leicester will rocket back up if they can raise these kinds of funds.
None I guess. They are essentially trading ASM for Barnes - how much of an actual upgrade is that?
I wonder if Southgate picks him again after this shift of country and morals?Jordan Henderson a pillar of the football community, a supporter of rainbow laces and all things righteous signing for the Saudis…..
Barnes got more G/A in a relegated team last season than ASM has in total in four years there. They are essentially trading ASM for Barnes - how much of an actual upgrade is that?
Honestly, hot take, I think they are building kinda like Man City. They will need as many HG players as they can get. They are getting them first, so that when they do have cash to splash, they will go all out on big name foreign players and not have any HG number issues.None I guess.
Weird the way they're going about this considering the apparent FFP headroom from Ashley's non-investment, plus CL football. Signing players like Gordon and Barnes around a Tonali isn't going to kick you on, you'd think. Maybe their income really isn't all that.
Quite a lot if you are looking at actual measured output. They are essentially trading ASM for Barnes - how much of an actual upgrade is that?
Yep. ASM is the epitome of a match of the day player. Does lots of fancy stuff with an explosive burst of pace but has zero output.Barnes got more G/A in a relegated team last season than ASM has in total in four years there.
Henderson going is very disappointing, because I'd really like more players to do the good he did/take the stands he did, and the backlash he'll get (understandably) will make that less likely. As if the perception of hypocrisy is a worse crime than injustice.
Can't pretend I don't understand, it's just disappointing.
Depends if they spend any of it. They have lost two players of good quality. Maybe more to come38m is insane money for Barnes. Leicester will rocket back up if they can raise these kinds of funds.
The question now is did he really take a stand because that was how he felt, or was it nothing more than a virtue signalling PR exercise.Henderson going is very disappointing, because I'd really like more players to do the good he did/take the stands he did, and the backlash he'll get (understandably) will make that less likely. Much more end product but less dribbly fun. They are essentially trading ASM for Barnes - how much of an actual upgrade is that?
Yeah I was having discussion with mate who said they’d have taken the money.Henderson going is very disappointing, because I'd really like more players to do the good he did/take the stands he did, and the backlash he'll get (understandably) will make that less likely. If I'm honest I would a hundred percent take the money now. It would secure my boys future and that means much more to me than anythingYeah I was having discussion with mate who said they’d have taken the money.
I don’t think I would have personally, he thought I was nuts lol.
