Would love him but he doesn’t fit the role of being able to play all 3 attacking roles does he?

No, but he’s a helluva insurance policy in case Kane gets injured. Guessing that’s the thinking from Conte’s end. Not sure if Scamacca would go for that, though?

When you think about it a target man option is very much a Conte staple. At Chelsea he wanted to bring in Llorente and then brought in Giroud. Obviously he had Lukaku at Chelsea and many at Juve. This guy certainly fits the bill. As others have said the big issue is convincing the guy that he'll get enough football. If we intend on being a top top club though we should really have another quality striker in addition to Kane.

I wonder if the Perisic move makes this more likely as it reduces the need for a striker that can also play wide.

Didn’t watch the game, how did he do tonight?
Came in for the last 10-15 minutes. Didn't do much, but Italy as a whole looked like they had given up at that point. He had one opportunity but was offside, mainly because the pass was a bit too late and not so much on him.

When I asked about Nunez this was the name I was given.

Told Conte wants a physical presence and he doesn't feel we currently have that.
"One player that we were linked to before that I think is going to absolutely explode this year is Gianluca Scammaca. Unfortunately not quite as fluid positionally as other options, but i think he might end up being the most elite. Would have him right there, if not just behind, Lautaro Martinez."

I posted this about three weeks ago. I have been watching him all season because I really liked Raspadori, but slowly started to love Scammaca. The man is an absolute specimen on the field, it almost looks comical at times how he towers over opposition players as dribbles past them in tight spaces. 'Man against boys' is never more accurate than here.

A player he plays fairly similar to is Edin Dzeko (who I loved), but is much faster than him. His strengths are obviously his heading, he has an absolute rifle of a right leg and he also has actually quite good close control and dribbling in tight spaces. His link up play is pretty good, really likes to play quick one two's around the box. But dont expect him to be playing many killer through balls, that's not his game.

As I said in my original post, id be delighted with this signing and my only issue with it would be that I couldn't really envision him being able to play on the wing. But he would have the pace for it so who knows fur sure.

Scammcaa is most certainly a good shout. hes quite bad ass...literally. his dad and grand dad have been jailed for mob links and for some violent attacks but hes always been a scary looking dude who stayed outta trouble. he socred 16 goals this year but didnt always start consistently. hes still quite young, 23 I believe. My only issue with him is his consistency. He really gets himself into some games where others hes quite oblivious, but when hes on oh hes on...to me hes the future of italy's strike force with raspiadori who I think also suffers from consistency.

Inter were a given for him to replace dzeko but as someone mentioned with their cash problems and potential loan for lukaku i doubt it happens. I heard sassuolo want 40 mill for him...which is a great deal, but if anyione can get this guy to the top its Conte! Especially as he fits the fold of player he wants. As an italian I would def be for this but I hope he could deliver.

I don't think David is the answer as he much more in the martinez mold of having to play with two up top, unless that's what we go for.

Hmm, i like him but he’s a very much a striker. Would have greatly preferred a forward who can play across the line. As much as I think he’s good and has potential, I have a feeling he might struggle in the PL. I really like Sassuolo and watched them a lot last season, out of their forwards Raspadori is the one with the most potential imo.

In regards to one’s we have been linked to Nunez would make more sense.

If its a no9 from SerieA would have preferred Zapata instead...
Time to watch more videos of this guy

Honestly guess he has way better options than sitting on our bench, playing the odd League Cup match and 20 minutes here and there.

He’d obviously be much more expensive but I’d rather go for someone like Toney if we want a physical presence. Knows the league, can score goals, is home grown etc.

If you search for Scamacca, I had ITK on him last summer. Fab is a big fan and tried to sign him 12 months ago. It’s all there on the search history. I will ask my source this weekend.

Any ideas what the reasons might be for it to be a tricky signing? Doesn't want to leave Serie A? Big Italian clubs in for him? Bigger continental clubs after him?

Be a tough decision for him. Maybe a jump to big?

A safer bet would be to stay in Serie A.

Like the cut of his jib.

Apparently signed a new deal, some rumours it includes a release clause, sometimes players do that to sort their team out financially.

Wouldnt be my first choice as Id much prefer a player that can play across the front 3 (Nunez for me).

However, he looks decent and if Conte wants him then that is all that matters. Im guessing the difficult part of this deal will be convincing him of his playing time rather than fees etc.
