can see some managers not wanting to touch Chelsea with the way they get sacked!

was easly going to happen though, they want the CL and they didnt get it again, so sacked..... and i thought they had a good season as well, 2 finals and 2nd in the league... though no cups

i figure he was probably told when he inherited the side that they would likely be looking to install a new man by next year, if results didn't suit them so i doubt he's that heartbroken...

So, who's in next then, Rijkaard?

There is definitely a growing argument that it isn't a good idea to do a good job at a football club.

To the other post - Who in their right mind would want that job? They really do appear to be making life difficult for themselves. Takes the bad look of us i suppose.

If John Terry hadn't fallen on his ass, and Chavski had won the CL, would Grant have been sacked?

In my opinion, Yes, he was always on his way. They must have someone else lined up already.

I think it could also possibly be to do with the players brought in over the last 2 seasons. Wasn't Grant the Director of Football previously? Didn't Mourinho make some odd ball speech about eggs and omlette's reffering to the quality of players brought in? If you look at the players Arsenal lost and Chelsea brought in during the summer of 2004, it more than explains the reason Chelsea overtook Arsenal. Yet if you do the same with Man Utd and Chelsea since 2006, it again explains the reason the pecking order has changed again. Oh and it also backs up my theory of how limited the effect of actual coaching is at this level. Grant was a bit of a nobody and came closer to the title than Mourinho last year and came a penalty kick away from winning the CL.

Not a surprise, they want a 'name' and whoever that is will be paid huge money and have huge money to spend on the team. Of course it will be an attractive proposition to pretty much any manager out there, and to say that it wont be is wrong IMO

Ten Cate already there, i think Rijkaard will be on his way to the Chavs. How he will cope with the media attention that comes with the job i don't know, got to him at the end of his Barca reign

Bye bye Chavram.

They'll probably get Sony from city or actually go for Hiddink this time. Let's hope they leave our boss alone.

Van Gaal is leaving AZ having ridiculously raised expectations. This season he has been a victim of his own success having taken them so close to winning Eridivise last season.
