Some more ...

Looks like Mansour has finally achieved what he wanted. We're now consigned to history.

We were like a fine tuned athlete at the height of his career, and he has let himself go so badly its tragic, we are the obese stage. This club has been like the classic case of captain smith in charge of the titanic, no matter how many ice warnings with the icefield coming our direction, this club has smug has they are and still are kept thinking this ship will never sink, and we very much have hit that iceberg taking on water, it is a farce how badly these clowns are running this club. Did this club even try to contact pep about managing united, no we let him go to a small club with allot of money. We are basically relying on a manager failed at every level at this club coming into his 70's, and where is the plan in place to find someone else?

His loss, he could have been manager of a real football club.

You can trace all of this back to when the Glazers took over...
Years of underfunding player reinforcements, years of leeching from the club, which largely went under the radar to most fans as it was shrouded by success, and now its starting to come home to roost...
If we'd strengthened from a postion of power, as we should've done, then we'd still have a team capable of playing attractive football...but instead, we replaced Ronaldo and Tevez with the likes of Obertan, Valencia and Michael fecking Owen...that in itself speaks volumes...

They will spend £250m+ in the summer I reckon making sure the squad fits what Pep wants. Looking forward to the Pep vs Poch title battle next season. (y)(y)

I think this could be the job where Guardiola plays 'Fantasy Football' and puts together whatever squad he desires. To be fair to him so far he has spent money but also brought in lower profile, younger players such as Bernat, Coman, Kimmich etc. and at Barca he surprised people by promoting the likes of Busquets and Pedro which turned out to be correct, plus his work with the B team.

He may well find a few things tougher over here though. The competitive and relentless nature of the league will I think be a bit of a shock initially. It will be interesting to see how many injuries City pick up from next year, because Bayern have had crazy injury problems throughout his time there so something hasn't been right. Lastly the media and 'culture' of football over here... I think there will be a split. At first I predict the press will be wanking themselves silly over him and we'll get countless articles of praise and wonder the first time he plays 3-4-3, 3-3-4, 2-3-5 or some other incomprehensibly fluid formation as we have seen at Barca and Bayern and the play out from the back and pressing. However I do think it will be harder to implement over here and there will be more resistance to it (whether that be players, fans or the press) who wont have the patience or tactical discipline. As soon as they get a few unconvincing or bad results the murmurs will begin.

Interested to see how he gets on in a much more competitive league with big variations in playing styles
Still he'll have stupid money to spend in the summer anyway so not exactly gonna be down to his tactical genius.

What ever happened to ffp anyway, just some weird fairytale law that no one really obeyed

Tell you what though, how nice is it reading the comments about Van Gaal and knowing we dodged that bullet!

If he had to come to a PL club then I'm glad it's City..

I would love to see him fail though.

The problem with that statement is who will Poch be managing? Now that Guardiola is set for City that effectively leaves Utd (who will surely sack LVG) and Chelsea looking for a new Manager. Real Madrid probably will be too.

The meltdown on Red Cafe, The Shed End and Arsenal Mania is classic! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: It's like the world has come to an end for some fans. I'm glad he's gone there, of all the PL clubs he would go to that's the one I mind the least.

If I was a guessing man UTD will get Mourinho, but that leaves Chelsea standing on their own. They have burnt most bridges and really which top manager is left for them; Ancelotti Going Bayern, Mourinho they just sacked and Klopp @ POOL.

Really can't think of anyone off the top of my head.

I'm hoping the Man City players now give up on this season so we can get above them!

Dunno but I want Mourinho back in the league. Would leave only Ancelotti out and pretty much all the top guys would be here
