Smart enough as in that he like many others know that Ole most likely won''t win the league or CL with United. An that's what he is aiming for. What, like one sitting second in the league, which only recently wiped the floor with us?
I think it's time to realise that some of the managers we've had a giggle about in the past, are actually quite good and just needed that perfect blend of environment and time to thrive - Ole, Rodgers, MOYES.
Let's end this embarassing notion that we are somehow entitled to be perceived better than other teams who were traditionally below us. West Ham and Leicester have had a tremendous season for example and deserve all the credit they get.
As does Ole. The progress he's made with United this season is simply astounding. We smashed them 6-1 in October (we were ten places apart in our favour) and didn't get near them in April (with Utd close to 20 points ahead of us).
The League Cup is a fantastic piece of silverware for us.
The Europa League isn't beneath us by any stretch of the imagination.
I mean who the hell are Tottenham to be saying such things. We have got one trophy in the last 20 years+ and yet we dare say that Kane shouldn't play for this or that manager?
This cup final has been a real eye-opener for me - Kane did fuck all in this final, and the CL final, and the previous League Cup final under Poch. And yet this has turned into the "poor Kane who deserves better" story. HOW THE F... DOES HE DESERVE BETTER? He has had more opportunity to win trophies with us than most porfessional footballers do in their entire careers. And he failed time and again.
I've just had it up to here with the poor Kane point of view. He is just as to blame as the rest.
You could argue that they've improved, but especially going forward it's overall far from impressive what United are doing. Especially compared to the real elite teams.
