One of Harry Kane's problems is he looks older than he is.
He's clearly not one of those precocious eye catching prospects
but he has time to develop positional skills.
The slow burners who will take advice and coaching
are sometimes a better bet.
He has quick feet if not out and out pace but strikers
depend on the instinct to be in the right place and to make
the right runs.
Shown enough with us and on loan to persevere with.
He has time. Could save us £15 million or so next season.

The pass Kane played in for the third goal was the most impressive bit imo. Showed awareness and intelligence and it was perfectly weighted. Sweet striker for the first goal as well.

Was about to post the same terrific vision and perfectly weighted

He looks good to me just as good as that Jordan Rhodes who has less technical ability

I think Kane has a far bigger gap to bridge than Livermore does in terms of competing for their respective positions in the squad...and its why Livermore is involved around the first squad and Kane isn't at the moment.

Kane is younger though, so he has time on his hands to make a case for himself.

This. Livermore would walk in to the CM of probably 10 out of 20 PL clubs. However, I think even for the lesser PL clubs Kane would be a squad player.

As you say though, Livermore has 2 or 3 years on Kane, so only time will tell.

By the way, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that I think Kane will eventually be a better player than Wickham. Pretty sure they're of similar age, if not exactly the same. In my opinion, had Kane been in the youth ranks of a Championship or League 1 club he would have been pretty impressive, and seen as a great prospect. Liverpool would have probably bought him for £30m.

Let's not forget that with all of the hype and excitement surrounding Wickham, he wasn't exactly banging in the goals last season.

I think Livermore has around 4 years on Kane, which at Kanes age is a massive gap in terms of experiance and development.

Edit: Kane is listed as being 18 whille Livermore is 22, according to wikipedia

I reckon Kean has the stature to make it...Kean may be "what it says on the tin" no thrills but very efficient player, Shearer like.

It's been a while since THFC developed a striker from the youth system.

Anyone else want to see more of him play? Thought he has been decent when has played and was a good finish tonight. Or would people prefer to see him go out on loan?

No I want to see him given more chances, it seems clear that Ade will be off as soon as we can convince someone to take him and Kane has been working hard and deserves a shot at being 3rd choice. He's more of a physical presence than Defoe too.

I'd prefer he starts seeing decent playing time with us. With JD and possibly even Ade still in the picture, I fear we won't this season.

Give him any cup games we have. Unfortunately for him we always have a lot of players who want/need a game. It depends on the future of Ade a bit.

He should be playing more of role but AVB and the youth policy seems strange tbh

In terms of him there was always one thing he was destined to do and that was hit the post, I predicted he was going to hit the post in the chat room and he did it.

I have never seen a player hit the post as many times as him, it is like 1 in 2 games from U18 to PL

I'd take him ahead of Defoe everyday of the week if we continue with one up top.

Defoe CANNOT be a focal point of our attack.

A fine striker he may be but the way we play he is a detriment to the team.
