Our transfer activity is very reminiscent of the summer we sold Bale. ITK kept citing a £50m loan from Joe Lewis / ENIC as explanation for the money we were spending, then Bale left late in the window after our business was done. With hindsight, the loan was only a very short-term boost to our cash-flow and was repaid out of the Bale money. The ITK was correct, but turned out to be less positive than we initially assumed.

I now have a very strong sense of de javu. I can't find the post or remember who posted it / exact wording, but one piece of ITK last month suggested signings were not dependent on anyone being sold first. SC widely interpreted it as confirmation that we could afford to spend without selling Kane, whereas I read it as we could buy before selling Kane - like we did in 2013. It seemed to me that the post was ambiguously worded in such a way that most of us would read it as confirmation that we can afford to invest heavily in a rebuild this summer, while discretely telling us Kane will be sold after our business is done - i.e. a repeat of Summer 2013.

If anyone can direct me to that ITK post I'd really appreciate it.

With the super utmost respect to Dragon! We promised if any club in the world matched our own market valuation, we would not stand in his way. Funny thing is; citeh offered various lists of players and cash, to the value of 100m LOL. Then they spoke about different proposals, but to now didn’t offer 100m cash, which would of been rejected out of hand!!!

I'll laugh my arse off if City are only at the table at all because they'd been told that 100m would be enough, and now there's a massive stink been kicked up and they're on the hook for 160+ or they look like they've left him hanging.

At this point, if they don't even give us a bid in that region to reject because they never thought it would cost that much, the Kane name is going to be absolute shite both here and in Manchester.

City won’t care about FFP.

They will simply do what they want, be told they’re being banned or whatever then appeal and be told actually they have to pay a fine of £24.99 and that’s the matter dealt with.

Football authorities have shown they’re gutless when it has come to punishing City before. Any punishment can be paid off in cash.

Hope Harry gets told if he doesn’t train he isn’t getting paid.

I have a gentlemens agreement with Levy that he shouldn't sell Kane for less than £150m.

Prove me wrong..

His own brother was telling everyone who'd listen at his wedding that the price was £160m so that makes a nice baseline.

To be fair it sounded like UEFA did really want to go after them but they got off on a technicality with the Court of Arbitration for Sport, who ruled that they hadn't broken the rules.

No, he didn't.
First off, they didn't bid over 100m and secondly, he didn't state how much over 100m that bid would need to be.
Let's face it, Kane having a storming season last year would've raised his price in anyone's book too.
When that “agreement” was made it was thought that the pandemic was abating and we’d have full grounds by October, plus we had Mourinho, Bale and 5 or so new players so an expectation of CL. Shit happens, shit happened, and circumstances change. None of us, Kane included can just pretend nothing happened because it suits. Many lives and careers have been lost and altered. Get used to it.

Would love to know how much of that "2 week fine" covers the non-playing staffs wages, and for how long?

Levy must be like a pig in shit. Who needs the furlough scheme?

"MAKE A STANCE!" Jamie O'Hara BACKS Harry Kane after he fails to arrive at Spurs's training ground - YouTube

Jamie O'Hara misreading the room I think.

How dare he talk about "real" fans being OK with Kane swanning off to City. I was a "real" fan before you were born Jamie. He talks about being here as a kid, which is true, so he owes us as much as we owe him if you want to make that argument.

Ultimate professional my arse.
O'hara is a complete fucking bellend.

How does this realistically end now? Do we even want him to stay considering the huge black cloud that will follow him for the next season?

Most fans seem completely done with him. He's insulted the club, the board, our new DoF, his team mates and our new management team. How the fuck does he even come back to training after this and expect to anyone to show him the least bit of sympathy?

He's fucked us no matter what.

I hope paratici has his say in this. Because if he gets 140-150m or 100-110m + Laporte to work with I think he can transform the club in similar fashion when Coutinho left Liverpool. With the rest of our outgoings it would be around 200m. That kind of money could make us in 1-2years time real contenders again.

Just dreaming now

Son-Vlahovic-Kulusevski

Lo-celso-Pellegrini-Hojberg

Regiulon-Laporte-Romero-Aarons

--------------Lloris---------------

And if we go full inception on villa when they get the Grealish money and they put 25m on Winks and 45m on Ndombelly

I very much doubt Daniel Levy gave Harry a set amount he would sell him for in over a year’s time. He may have said something about a suitable offer or such, but it wouldn’t be Levy’s MO to set a price to a player with how volatile the market was with covid.

Do you think Liverpool were better off hanging on to Coutinho?
1) Coutinho is not the same level as Kane
2) Coutinho was not Liverpool's best player
3) Liverpool only pushed on after an outlay of £316m (£127.5m net), so did far more than reinvest the Coutinho money.

Have to laugh at all the posters who've had a melt down.....Harry Kane showing no loyalty... Harry disrespecting the fans. Same posters Eric Dier is the biggest prick, why is he still here....Harry Winks is not our level... needs to leave asap..etc etc.

Then when Harry decides we not at his level..... oh the uproar.....must say I've enjoyed the irony of how you as posters treat players under contract who you want GONE and in the same breathe cry foul when the same happens to the club by a player under contract.

All the best to Harry Kane and his future. Thank you for the memories is what I say... it's gonna suck and be painful seeing you play for another team. let's get the best possible price and move on.

If he wants to go so badly he's willing to strike. Hand in a transfer request. Forfeit his and his brothers percentage and fuck off!!
