Bye bye Kane

BBC News - Sergio Aguero to leave Manchester City at end of season

Not sure why you've got a WTF rating. The speculation will be massive now.

I think he'll leave. He'll want to stay in the prem to break Shearer's record. Man city's main talisman is leaving.

Yep not sure what the WTF rating was about either.

The fact that Aguero will leave in the summer doesn't necessarily mean that they go all out for Kane (instead of someone else) AND that he will join them, that's just one of many possibilities this summer. So it's very premature to say "bye bye Kane" based on this 'news'.

That's the thing. Medals are wonderful, but if Kane stays he will achieve immortality. If he stays and leads to a title then he will go beyond even that. Winning the league with Man City is one thing, but winning it with Spurs will prove beyond doubt that not only is he a Spurs great, he is a Premier League great.

Now if people could stop doing our rivals' work and finding reasons why he should leave, that would be great... You don't know what he values in life any more than I do.
Immortality isn’t worth very much when you’re dead.
So likewise, you don’t know how much he will enjoy the feeling of immortality as obviously it won’t be something he can enjoy.
As a player who obviously wants to win( more than most), it’s clear he wants to do it here.

as spurs fans we can’t enjoy another team winning

The difference is he can be a spurs fan and still enjoy personal success elsewhere.

I think you'll find the "bye bye Kane" was
tongue in cheek so there's no need for over the top reactions.

Sky will absolutely milk Kane to city now, they're desperate for it.

Don't think he'll go there anyway, not sure Pep would go for him or a haaland type if they do replace aguero.

As a spurs fan my first thoughts to aguero leaving City is oh fuck kane will go to them. However Aguero announcing he is leaving might actually be good. They can crank up their interest in Haaland and if there's genuine movement of that actually happening it leaves us in a good position

I'm certain as one can be that Kane is desperate to be PL all-time top scorer ruling out a move abroad. The only viable option for him is Man City. If you leave the team you love you need to join a team that is close to a guarantee of titles as possible and that is only city

City have been linked more with Haaland and Lukaku than Kane.

There's also a good chance they'll just bring in Messi this summer and not sign a striker.

I don't think spending 150m+ on a 28 year old is something they tend to do, if they're pushing the boat out it'll be Haaland who has about 14 years of value in him

I do think haaland to city is written in the stars, which is certainly good for us.

You would have to think so considering his Dad's previous connection with the club as well.

Taking the thread off-topic slightly... but how scary would they be with him leading the line? They could dominate the league for years.

Love Defoe, what a guy

Re: Kane - God knows how it's going to play out. I think the lack of money in the system is going to work in our favour, but if we don't get in the CL and/or unless he flat out comes out says "I'm not going", we're going to be in for this kind of story all feckin summer

It is what it is

To be fair, that wouldn't be far different to the situation as is now.

It is what it is

Those leeches won't care if he does. He could come out, tell the media to go fuck themselves, squat over the Skysports News desk and take a shit live on air while chanting 'Tottenham till I die' and by the time they come back from the enforced ad break they'd state 'he's clearly feeling the pressure as his move away from Spurs hots up!'
