England getting to the final and then losing it is the worst thing that could have possibly happened in terms of keeping Harry. Would be shocked if he isn't now desperate enough to win stuff that he'll push it all the way through. Brutal.

The problem is that if England had won tonight the Harry would need to leave because he ‘would have had a taste for trophies‘ but now they’ve lost he’ll need to leave to win them elsewhere.
We can’t win.

It's social media. There are always various angles to look at anything. You just have to ignore it.

Feel bad for Kane

It’s both damning and irrelevant.
Damning because it highlights how this setup is not designed to get Kane scoring but be a front lynchpin with others running beyond and is in my opinion wrong.

Irrelevant because he was everywhere, passing, winning headers and fk’s. It’s his weighted pass again that set Trippier going for the goal. The issue was the runners post goal were poor and the plan B still didn’t look to have a setup that focuses on Kane as a striker.

Yeah, it was like watching Spurs.
Yep exactly the same thing in a final.

Spurs & England have so many similarities tbh and both love not turning up in big games.

On one hand Kane has played 4 finals now, hasn’t scored in any of them or barely had a sniff of a chance but he was half fit in 2 of them.

On the other hand in each of those finals apart from CL final vs Liverpool where we did have a decent amount of possession and created some chances, the rest of the finals he got fuck all service.

But then again you think if he’s trying to be a top 1/2 player in the world, Messi, Ronaldo etc then sorry but he needs to influence big games a bit more. I know some will say he won free kicks and dropped deep and did some good passes etc but if you put Ronaldo in those 4 finals, 3 for Spurs and 1 for England I’m pretty certain he’d have scored in at least one of them.

Kane is a top top top player but unless he gets the right service he won’t be the type of player to often win you a game on his own and he can therefore go missing in some big games.

As for stay or go, i think he’ll want to go for sure it’s just if City are willing to pay what we want for him or not.

Im so sad for Kane, really gutted. Wanted him to etch his name next to Bobby Moore for his first trophy so badly.

I think as unenjoyable as the majority of Jose era was, the clinical nature of Son and Kane had some really strong statistics, I think we were one of best teams in league for scoring early and scoring first, leading by half time.

I just hope Nuno can build on that but create a better ruthlessness to go for tbe throat of games and get that 2nd or even 3rd goal and add the level of fitness needed to be defensively solid. There's some foundations there to be built upon in terms of the brilliance of Kane. You build the right machine behind him and who knows what success we may have given his ability.

Messi is different.

But Ronaldo mostly stays high up the pitch and reserves his energy, waiting for the moment to make it count. The whole team is set up to get him into these situations and make the difference.

Unfortunately, England and Tottenham don't operate in that way. Tottenham can't, as we've seen this season. And England don't cause Southgate uses him as a foil and a playmaker.

Kane runs all over the field whereas Ronaldo preserves energy.

It's not a fair comparison.

It’s mental that people think winning the Euros with England will quench his thirst for trophies. I remember growing up as a randy teenager looking at the girls and gagging for a shag. When I got one, I honestly can’t remember thinking “that’ll do, don’t want another one of those for a while!”. If England win the Euros the thirst for trophy’s will just increase. I think he’ll be here next season but without an absolute miracle, I think that’ll be all she wrote.

Read back though the thread. Plenty clutching at straws thinking win at the Euros might satisfy him for a while so he stays.

I don’t know how he’s not given some credit for that 1st goal. He made the break with his pass and drew 2 defenders covering him in the box.

he stopped dropping deep and getting on the ball in the 2nd. England starting trying to get it to Saka and Sterling on the wings with Kane above them. All he got was long moon balls. They stopped using him in any way that was useful.

It's funny because the pundits on our TV's from across Europe have all said how much they'd love Kane to play for their country and yet in England we have a hate campaign because he's Spurs.

I thought Kane was excellent in the first half today. Like the whole team - and, yes, Spurs too many times last season - they all retreated too deep in the second half.

He’ll now be playing in a cup final without Spurs for the first time.

Still, he’s remains the focal point. It will be interesting to see if he wins or falls just short once again with a different supporting cast around him.
Hmmm ?

Another “nearly” for Harry. Reality is he’s had chances to win serious trophies here too — and hasn’t followed through.
