I don't think they can get both without causing a huge ffp shit storm, and they are stalling the Grealish deal. I think once they get zero encouragement from our side they'll push through with Grealish. Not heard about his contract situation but I will ask the question.

There's rumours that Grealish has a release clause of £100 million and that is why that is the figure being quoted. I wonder if that falls away at the end of the week. Anyway, this week is key it seems.

We just need to stay strong and I think the news that we are fining Kane for breach of contract indicates that we are.

Arent FFP rules relaxed because of Covid? so i dont think FFP rules play a role here if they want both.

ffp doesn't apply when it comes to city anyway. they'll just find some bullshit sponsorship deal behind the sofa for $2bn or something.

Stand firm. Only person taking a hit with this is Harry and his “model-professional” persona. Looks like the media is rightfully on our side. Have a feeling Harry won’t like all the negative press and will be showing up sooner than later with some made up excuse as to why he missed.

It feels very stage managed, in the same way the Bale no show turned out to be apparently stage managed. It's stuff like the promo shots of the new away kit, the focus on Son as the man. I also wonder if the no show is designed to upset the fans and make it more palatable when it goes ("get out of our club" etc).

I wish he wanted to stay and work hard at Spurs but apparently he doesn't have the grapefruits for it. He absolutely is a generational talent for us, but I feel he has really benefitted from the culture at Spurs and the encouragement. Bale on the other hand had the ambition and desire and had to progress under a different culture. He also set his standards a bit higher with Ronaldo-era Madrid. Kane going to City feels like a desire to fill the medal drawer up a bit. What really grates is he had the chances at Spurs and he didn't turn up. I feel a bit like the issue is with him and his mentals, though that also feels a bit unfair (especially if he stays). Just wish it could be more dignified than the Charlie Kane disasterclass. Feel like he owes the fans more than this.

From what I'm hearing I still don't think he goes. We (again from what I'm told) are not looking to negotiate or compromise regardless of what stance Harry takes.

Thanks Trix. This is one of those times where principles matter as the repercussions will last for years. Quite disappointed in Harry. The club needs to continue to show ambition regardless of the outcome of this chapter.

Expecting him to turn up in an oversized Grey cardigan denying any contact with City and acting as if nothing has happened

If Grealish is 100m, Harry is AT LEAST 150m.

If City want him they have to pay that, if not he can sulk all he wants. What a way to try & end your Spurs legacy. What a shame.

I don't think those exclusions cover underhand sponsorship deals with the intend of bypassing FFP restrictions.

I would want Laporte in the deal, if he wants to come

He would be exactly what we would need, perfect partner to Romero

Even if Kane doesn't get his move to Man City, I hope Nuno and his team make Hojbjerg vice-captain instead of Kane. He doesn't deserve to be vice-captain.

It’s an odd one for me. I feel Spurs need a big, decently planned rebuild (the painful one) and selling him would enable this to happen, and set us up for another generation and back into the top 4.

However, his actions today are extremely disappointing for someone who is supposed to be a model professional and England captain. So fuck it. Hold out. Make city pay through the nose, or shut the door.

Thing is. After all of this who wants him hear now?

More importantly if /when he goes, who’s putting him in FF team?

Show some balls spurs , don’t sell him don’t play him, and get 100 mill for him next year , ruin his plans like his ruining ours

We're all feeling it mate, but it's also irrational.

I don't always trust Levy buying players, but selling players - I am pretty confident there's none better at getting the most buck for your bang.

Lad has definitely misread the room here. Grealish training as normal is going to do him no favours whatsoever as they're the two biggest transfer stories, running in parallel, and with everyone's eyes on both. The one with a chequered history of being a bit of a twat...professional, club first, whatever will be will be. Yet the England captain, man of the people and a model pro...toys out of the pram and radio silence.

It's not a good look, and I'd presume after a couple of days of this someone is going to need to have a word.

Sorry to be very late to the party. Not been able to read anything all day. Has there been any actual ITK or official sources (beyond Sky speculation) that Kane has refused to join up today?

A year ‘rotting in the reserves’ probably costs us at least £50million in his eventual transfer fee and a whole lot more in his wages. Not to mention the disruption to our squad from the constant press attention.

Even if it was the right thing to do morally, it’s never going to happen.
