It's odd because first of all I said arguably and it certainly is an arguable point but there is no way anyone can say it isn't.Many different angles on it, obviously record goalscorer, that's a fact
How people define greatest player is a differing opinion for a start - most impactful to the club or actually best footballer? If its the latter then Bale and Modric were ahead of Kane in the last 15 years alone.
Calling people odd because they don't agree with you on something that is very open to debate and subjective makes you a bit of a twat.
He was no Gregorz RasiakThe Andy Booth loan was a cracking one
“Rushing to get one in just because it’s early”!!! Are you having a laugh?! The same 2 targets haven’t changed since the beginning of the window! We’ve been talking/negotiating with Tabsoba & VDVen throughout, and now it’s barely 2 weeks before the season starts. There’s no excuse for not having at least 1 of them here, and neither should be dependent on the Kane money.
You mean like the “reality” of after 3 managers and 6 windows were still waiting for the LCB position to be upgraded. Is that “fact relevant” enough for you or would you prefer to pick a different one?Sorry dude, no one must have explained to you the rules around here. You are allowed, nay, expected to present your argument using evidence that backs it up, and can ignore anything that would provide anything that would provide weight to the opposing argument. No need to deal with reality, just pick and choose which facts are relevant.
Hope this helps.
Doom and gloom everywhere, when our previous record scorer left the club we won silverware for three successive seasons. Cheer up everybody , life will go on.
Yeah, I'd agree with that, just don't believe we have anywhere near enough information to know when and where that should happen. And therein probably lies the crux of the issue, what we consider to be a "reasonable fee".
In my book, Tapsoba for 50 odd million is a pretty reasonable fee, given his age, profile and our need for a player like him.
I'm not one of the "just pay up Levy FFS" gang but I do think there are times when we need to show a bit more ambition to actually get our targets.
I wasn't actually aiming at you bud, it was someone else. It's odd because first of all I said arguably and it certainly is an arguable point but there is no way anyone can say it isn't.
He has been amazing for a long time now and even if you're mad his leaving or mad he kicked up a fuss about City you can't deny how incredible he has been.
Onto your point about Bale. And Modric it's not even close. They are wonderful players who have had a better career than Harry but when you're taking achievements with this club Harry is clear of them all apart from a select few like Mackay, Blanchflower and Hoddle

Yeah if we're talking raw talent then Glenn Hoddle(my idol) is the one, it was an honour watching Modric , Waddle, Gazza and others aswell.I wasn't actually aiming at you bud, it was someone else.
But your last line was partly my point. I would argue Bale was a better player than Kane, but even that is subjective as they are different types of player. Actually for Spurs and what he has done for this club Kane is way above him. However IMO he isn't above any of the above mentioned or Greaves
Sure, it's relevant, but so are loads of other things. People go on as if we don't make any transfers ever, or never get our top targets because we're always haggling, and it just patently isn't true. You mean like the “reality” of after 3 managers and 6 windows were still waiting for the LCB position to be upgraded. Is that “fact relevant” enough for you or would you prefer to pick a different one?

I know everyone is saying we should sign a young player with massive potential to replace Kane and play backup to Richy.
But what young players with that potential are even available?
From a quick search, there isn't a whole lot that seem attainable/ready to step up.
I guess we have to just trust our new scouting team with this one.
Without derailing this thread much…. It’s the fact up until now we have been utterly directionless. Levy is essentially the captain of the ship. He has jumped between this and that and left the squad in a utter mess, wasting the best years of Kane while flip flopping between styles of play and poor manager choices.Levy doesn't back the manager with any signings he wants other than the time he backs him with the signing he wants but because the manager decided to have a meltdown and get sacked it is Levy's fault for backing the manager with a signing he wanted.

That was in the days when one or two teams weren’t monopolising all the trophies. Even if Levy suddenly has a damascene conversion and starts spending wildly. It’s highly unlikely we’ll win anything in the next five years.Doom and gloom everywhere, when our previous record scorer left the club we won silverware for three successive seasons. Cheer up everybody , life will go on.
Maddison and maybe Lo Celso will offer us some goals from a different area but those front 3 options are worrying for a consistent stream of goals imo.Yes we definitely need to sign someone if Kane leaves. Currently our front three and backups looks something like this
Son Solomon / Perisic
Kane Richy
Kulu Gil / Persic
Considering it's been reported Perisic has been told he will be allowed to leave as well then we'll be a player short if Kane leaves (we'll have 5 for potentially an area we need 6 players).
A high potential player that can cover all three positions would be my preference.
