I might be over simplifying this as it’s huge amounts of money we are talking about here but I just don’t get why we can’t just set a price and a time deadline at the start of the window once we knew Bayern were serious and that Kane wanted out.

Our business is always focused 100% on profit and bottom line and doesn’t take into account sporting outcome and effect.

Very frustrating.

Levy won’t let him go unless it’s for a record fee hence his £110m asking price.

Bayern won’t pay that so only two options now.

They either drop their interest or, they include Tels or Gravenberch as a £40m makeweight.

I know what you mean, and in an ideal world we would/could. But in this instance, my guess is those deadlines end up being slightly arbitrary and superficial because of the very finely balanced situation we're in with him and his contract

Levy’s choice.

sell this window to EU team for a decent / high fee or face the very real prospect of “welcome to the bridge” videos in a year with no cash

It’s a tricky one. 😂

And it’s clear the amount of Fcks given from HK re Shearers record is 0

I now find myself hoping and praying that we sell arguably our best player of all time asap just so that we can buy a half decent CB.

That's what you've done to me Levy you absolute ****!

Kane may think that any record that he puts up may be relatively short lived if Haaland sticks at Man City for any decent amount of time so might as well go and win something, can't get any more guaranteed than at Bayern.

I would keep him until the last day of the window and sort the incomings up. Why give him to bayern now? He can still help us in a couple of pl games if Levy drags it out. Sad that he is leaving tho 😔

Didn't Herc basically say last night that it was done? That, 'bye bye', seemed pretty definitive.

Presumably the media are a couple of days behind.

He was crap when he was distracted by City 2 seasons ago, don't think that he will help much.

Where's the "they wouldn't be flying over if they're not finalising the deal" club gone?
They're in the VdV thread because the "We need at least 2 CB's and a Worldie forward if Kane leaves, but Levy only cares about Go Karts" crew were getting hungry and had to pop out for food. So they headed over there to make sure that thread didn't somehow get back on topic in their absence.

That was more because we didnt even speak with City. If all parts know for sure it will happen he will defenitily give his all in his last games for the club he reportely loves.

I think most top players from now on will end up in Saudi Arabia before they get close to breaking any records. Especially those that have a few credible medals to their name already. The flood gates are open.

Hopefully a new era of homegrown talent beckons.

It’s funny that all the records are personal ones. Personally I’d like some trophies for the club. Not just HK top scorer etc. great for him sure, but as a club and as fan then …….

If Bayern are that arrogant they are still pissing around with price I’d personally tell them they’ve mucked us around enough and he’s staying put.

He’s a world class centre forward and I don’t understand teams won’t pay what he’s worth, like Man City refusing couple of summers ago.

As said before we should have set deadline and that’s it.

I’d still rather keep him as well and try and bloody win something this season, as ridiculous with him up too we still haven’t.

It’s also massively irritating that we we would get Tapsola and VDV if he left, but without money from his sale we wouldn’t, just splash the money this one time ffs…

I don’t think Kane would go to Chelsea.

He was one of the players who had grown fed up with Poch I believe as well, so they may be mates now but that doesn’t mean anything on the football side.

But then you never know with footballers these days.

I know a few Chelsea players have turned us down out of loyalty, but spurs are a bit different lol and seem to make gold into shit a lot lately.

Richarlison is a solid yet unremarkable 26yo who has scored 18 total premier league goals in the last 3 years (and who has never scored more than 13 in any one season).

I find the notion that he is somehow going to magically transform himself into a 20 goal a season striker an absolute fantasy.

The only logic I can see for such a case to be made by Spurs fans is if they are simply just getting ahead of the game in mentality preparing themselves for our chairman’s inevitably pathetic and failed attempt to sign an adequate replacement.

the point is that we would score more as a team and not have just one getting all the goals

We were never going to find a direct replacement.

This has been repeated ad nauseam
