This one hurts more because he was one of our own. Bale, modric, carrick, berbatov none of them were spurs through and through.

Reckon the announcement will be after the friendly tomorrow. Levy wouldn't want to do it before and lose out on ticket sales or have fans chanting at him.

So Bayern blinked and coughed up as per the Goat?

Wonder how that will be spun from the German media's side.

Going to be interesting if there's any Kane shirts in the club shop tomorrow!

This may be true, but it's also a little silly. The clubs will know that when Levy shows up on the doorstep looking for a striker, that he is looking to spend the Kane money...

Even if he is going to spend big at a different position - the clubs will still know.
Of course that would apply to strikers yep, but a little less clear cut for wingers and especially defenders.

If fake news is leaked that the deal is in jeopardy this weekend then that's enough to sow a bit of doubt in other club's minds that this is business we'd be trying to do anyway.

Smart thing to do is try to keep it all hush hush or actually leak some fake news, then bring in a really top winger and CB claiming they were part of the plan with Kane here. After all, it's been well documented we've been after a couple of CBs for a while anyway.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion but genuinely surprised and saddened to see fans with this opinion.

He is one of the greatest strikers of all time, has been for about 6 years now and he has stuck around giving A+ performances trying to help us win things when he could've gone anywhere.

Legend. Always will be!

He couldnt have gone anywhere because levy trapped him in a 6 year contract with a price tag that nobody has wanted to meet to this point.

Hes been our best striker by a country mile in the 30 years ive been a fan but lets not think he did us any favours, he was here for a great spell for the team and when it went south for a couple of seasons he went awol to try and jump ship.

I dont begrudge him a move nor hold it against him when he wanted to leave two years ago as its understandable given his talent, but hes playing for his career, hes not playing for our badge any more than any other player that gives their all for us.

All of that doubt goes out the window, when Levy insists on wrapping up the deal ASAP.

I think it's just a story people tell themselves to think we are getting a better deal. The football world is too small for all the clubs not to know what is going on - particularly with a deal like this.

(And, I don't think the "money" makes a difference in the overall price of a player - but it is more likely to have an effect on the structure of the deal - i.e. how much up front. And Levy could still plead poverty, claiming a Kane deal will be spread out over several years)

We've been here before with Berba, Modric, Bale etc. A new hero will rise from the ashes.

“There is no final victory, as there is no final defeat. There is just the same battle. To be fought, over and over again. So toughen up, bloody toughen up.”

If it had been done last night, surely Bayern wouldn't have been able to keep their mouths shut?
Nah, once they have their own way, they can sit back smug. Job Done. The leaks are to put pressure on, not as they are unstoppably gossiping about it.

We'll see I guess, I'm happy to wait until we get some proper confirmation.

I'm convinced this was all ironed out in the meeting Monday in terms of keeping quiet and allowing us to get replacements. Also setting the asking price and letting it known we will be open to sell if they keep their mouths shut. They have been quiet all week. I could see a verbal agreement but not being made official so technically we could pull the plug if they do.
