I think you're right there. DL, despite his troubles with FWank and DC, likes the DoF system. Is that Bergiristain fellow the BBF of Pep? If we could bag him it would be a hell of a coup.

Until Roman taps him up again anyway.

Yes Begiristain was the Barca DoF under Juan Laporta, left when Rossell came back.

Ok but my point is that if we go down the DoF route the first appointment will be the DoF and there is no point speculating about the coach he will appoint until we know who the DoF is. It would be hugely coincidental if both Baldini and Begiristain wanted the same coach.

My understanding was that the Coach and the DOF were both answerable to, and appointed by the Chairman. I was a bit shocked that Comolli insisted on Ramos and levy went along with it, and Comolli rightly went along with his nominee (although I did criticise Levy quite strongly at the time for allowing it in the first place).

But, yeah, now your point it clearer, I can see what you are driving at...but would have to say that should be beyond the remit of the DOF, and I would hope levy appoints the next coach, whether he switches to a DOF or not.

It would cut at least an hour each way off 'arry's daily commute were he to go to Chelski. Their Chobham training ground is a lot easier to get to on the M25 from his neck of the woods than sitting nose to tail in traffic right round to Chigwell. Some may laugh at this, but for anyone who touches the M25 in their daily commute you will understand what I mean. It may not be the deciding factor in him leaving Spurs to go to Chelsea but it would certainly help tip the scales.

Yeah yeah, I'll get it in the neck for this from some - fair enough - but I hope it happens.

Think so. The Lodge has closed for business for good it seems.

I wonder, not to go too far OT, what is the club going to do with the land? Sell it off. Might be able to make a few million back at least.

some hits ronaldinho, eto'o, alves, deco

some misses Kerrison, Henrique, chgrynsky.

Him and Pep arent particularly fond of each other. Pep wanted Zubizaretta and Rosell did what was asked. Rosell and Begiristain hate each other from the 03,04 period when Rosell was vice president. It would fantastic if pep was Tottenham manager but hes moving to nyc for 12 months.

If you applied the situation to any other person in another profession/job and take the emotion out of it

- you get a lot more money (at an age when you are probably looking at your last role before you retire)
- you get a bigger budget to spend
- you cut your travel time per day by hours
- your current employer is, at best , giving mixed messages about your long term future

how many people would say no ? Plus, I think I am correct in saying that Jamie lives in Oxshott, about five minutes drive from the Cobham training ground, so more time with the family. The point you would have to think about is , do I buy into the culture of my new employer and how they operate

Of course, we still don't know if they have actually talked :)

All the talk of Rodgers or Martinez is barking up the wrong tree if HR goes. The speculation should be more along the lines of Baldini or Begiristain because I am pretty certain when HR goes DL will appoint a DoF and let him then appoint a coach. So Baldini + one of Rodgers or AVB is possible but either in a HR style manager role I think hugely unlikely.

Not Baldini, he went to Roma a few months ago.

Begiristain, Valdano, Larini and van Gaal are all top DoF candidates though.

and redknapps flat is in canary wharf

Yes it is, it's in the same block that I have a flat in, though I have never seen him.

I do see papa bouba diop a lot who also has a flat here, although I understand he's now been released by the spammers. There are a couple of other west ham players in here as well but I don't know who they are.
