Been at Spurs since a kid and may be apprehensive about leaving London, let alone the UK.

If he’s close to family, playing overseas may just not appeal.
I think you are probably right and that’s a big part of the problem with him. He’s always been in a comfort zone, never gone out on loan and in hindsight that was a mistake. He’s very “safe” and even plays that way.

Surely he must see he’s not going to play so just needs to accept that.

Fwiw, Southampton have tried to take him twice before. How that equates to the here and now I have no idea, just thought it might be worth mentioning.

There's a lot of really weird opinions on Winks in here.

None of us know him and there has literally been no information on him or how he has behaved in like at least half a year.

I think it’s pretty well documented that he’s a media mole and has been quite vocal in revealing dressing room unrest etc and then it seems he has a high opinion of his own ability from interviews he makes about playing time. I would guess that’s where people are gathering their opinions.
Mine is that he’s a good player but horrific in a 2 man midfield due to his main weakness being off the ball and the ease at which players dribble past him. In conte’s system he’s just not good enough.

Unfortunately it seems it's Real or nothing for his nibs, so here he'll stay until his contract runs down.

Sadly we’re back to square one with him again. Let’s be honest, any player that doesn’t please the hive gets it.

Outrageously ridiculous slaggage, abuse, the lot. Over him not leaving for the first offer received. You’d actually cry real tears if a player you wanted upped and left with the speed required of him.

It’s HIS future, he’s entirely entitled to decide where he goes, when he goes and choose something that suits him. Now it might be frustrating if you think it has a bearing on incomings or FFP or any of the other magic things we have no real idea about, but that’s the game. Get used to it.

How any of that rates people giving him a dogs abuse I have no idea.
Today - with this post - you won the internet, sir

Actually think Italy would be a good move for him and one where his style would be of benefit, but appreciate it isn’t simply a football decision for him.

I agree, but would say I think the abuse comes from people not understanding his attitude to his contract. Whether we like it or not, Kane wanting to leave last summer was completely logical - why would one of the best footballers in the world want to play for Nuno (irrespective of how he went about it)?. Ok the flip side, why does winks want to stay? He has no future at the club. It’s his right to stay if he wants, but why does he want to?

Now Rangers have qualified for the champions league and have extra budget, I think they’d be a perfect fit for him. He’d likely shine in their league too.

Get off his back. The guy has a difficult decision to make having been shunned from his boyhood club. Put yourself in his position and imagine what’s going through his mind. Imagine he’s reading some of the bullshit you idiots are writing about him. What has he done to deserve that kind of treatment?

You’d have thought similar about Aaron Ramsey’s loan spell up there. When available he didn’t exactly set the place alight

I get possibly not wanting to move abroad as a massive lifestyle change and not all of us are built for that kind of new venture.

It‘s a shame though as genuinely reckon he’d do well in Italy or Spain and he has put some decent performances in for England at international level.

Maybe the premier league is just a bit too physical for his style of play.
