What do you think Harry's targets are for the new season? Consolidating a 4th place finish and a little run in the CL. Winning a trophy? Launching a challenge for the Premiership?

Having no idea at what sort of budget he has for the new season and which players he will bring in I can only guess. I think a 77 point total and a little run in the CL is an achievable target (with hard work). What do you think?

His aims i reckon will be to maintain a top four finish, anything higher being a bonus, and have a CL run which will enhance our reputation as a football club. Also to get to atleast the final of the F.A cup, providing we buy a few more players

Surely you should always aim higher?

It will be tough next season with 8 teams (Chelsea, Utd, Arse, us, City, Liverpool, Villa and Everton) all hoping for a top 4 finish. We shouldn't aim to do worse than last season though and Redknapp definitely will not.

A run in the CL, a top 4 finish and the chance of winning a cup will be the minimum aim I would have thought.

I'll be delighted with the group stage of the CL, the final of the FA Cup/winning the Carling, and 4th in the league.

Harry appears to be revelling at managing a club where he can keep hold of any stars and has the support to achieve things.

He has also acknowledged that competition is stiff. Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are going to continue being strong. Man City are spending big and ar a wild card. I also don't think we should write off Liverpool just yet. Last year they suffered due to a poor squad but if they can keep their top players and they are lucky with injuries then they are a match for us.

Personally I think Everton and Villa are only a threat to the above mentionned teams if they fall below expectations.

We want success in whichever way it presents itself, whether it's a top four finish, a cup or an improved league position. But finishing 6th isn't necessarily a failure.

Sounds good to me. Top four and a good CL run vital to upping rep. and attracting better players. In fact placing us where we were before the schmuck Irving Scholar screwed us over big time .....

What if we win the CL but finish out of the top 4?

Then we're back in the CL and will certainly attract better players. Of course, if we win the CL but get relegated ........

To challenge for the title, we may not win it but if we can maintain that possibility for as long as possible the perception of us as top four challenger will be upgraded cementing the perception of us as a CL club which as people keep saying attracts better players and retains existing ones.
As for me I'd like to win a trophey too:)

Finish 4th again and make it out of the group stages of the Champion's League and I'd be frigging delighted. I don't mind the domestic cups this year, give the fringe and youth players game time there and see how they do. We had a fantastic achievement last season by breaking the top four clique, but it'll have been all for nothing if we don't do it again.

I think I posted this in another thread, but I am quietly confident of beating our points total from last season, if we can keep Bale, Lennon, Corluka and Modric fit all or most of the season.

And if Woodgate makes a recovery, we'll be laughing.

to point out that only 18 months ago we had 2 points from 8 games, we were in a terrible mess

With the strength in depth we have, I believe Harry will be going for it on all fronts, he's not the kind of manager to treat any game lightly. Obviously when the season pans out different priorities may emerge, but from the start we're going to look to win every game.

So here's a question then, would you take being knocked out of the CL in the qualifier if it meant a guaranteed 4th place at the end of the season? I'd be tempted.

I'm sure the main targets are Group stage and challenging, top four and a cup run.
