Have we damaged our ability to attract up and coming talent?

I don't think Arsenal have suffered in their dealings with Fabregas etc or Manu with Rooney.
I would have thought Man City might not be that attractive in the respest that I can't imagine Milner or Barry getting many games now and this might put people off but I suppose if yiou get mega bucks it's bearable.

Anyways, Kyle Walker said something recently along the lines of "Hopefully Spurs aren't a selling club and we can keep him". I'm sure quite a few of the lads were saying at the end of the season that if we can keep all our players we will be strong again this year. Surely they are happy we are not letting Modric go?

Then again, Modric might have been one of the players that said it :s

Yes but they didn't call their chairman a bully who is forcing them to stay against their will.

See a difference?

We are lower down the food chain than Man utd and Arseanal. So players still will want to go to them coz they are more likely to do well and have a proven track record

Let's get a cooperation with Ivorian football club ASEC Mimosas. Almost every star from the Ivory Coast have played for that club at youth level. Let's also have a partnership in Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon and Nigeria. Let's add Burkina Faso and Congo DR as well. Or what about Gabon? We can help people and develop good players.

So that's the answer to our problems then?

No

Footballers are only interested in one thing - money!!

If we pay more they will come.

Anyone who believes in anything else is deluded

Yep. someone suggested above that CL was the most important think. That's absurd. If it were then City would have made a major dirth of players over the past few years.

You can't just get to the top from the start. We just gradually trade our way up - with Berba and potentially Modric we would be pocketing 30m +... a few more of these and we are well on our way.

Agree with the trade factor. The Berbatov money helped us fund players that got us CL footy
