I do not agree that you cannot expect people to be rational just because they support a team for any number of random reasons. I know plenty of people that are rational football supporters.

What other 'irrational' choice people have made in life is it fine to just act irrationally about?
Every human being is a combination of rational and irrational. Therefore expecting anyone to be rational at all times is unreasonable. Or, lets say, unrealistic.

Have all of the rational football fans you know acted perfectly rationally at every point in their entire lives? Have you? I certainly haven't and I value reason and logic very highly.

I watched the Bale icon program on sky last night. This thread is about the connection of fans and the team. But what I found worrying is the connection of our players! The team back then we’re a proper team, the celebrations were deep and together. Our team spirit atm is so poor. Kane scores he just wanders off and does his finger blast and kisses his wedding ring. Literally thinks that celebration will be iconic like Alan Shereas (sp). ?. We used to enjoy playing football and winning. Scoring. Son and dele dancing. Weird gestures etc. I think the whole club needs a shuffle.

Supporting a football team to the level we do is irrational itself.

Wow what a wishy-washy post hope being the only assertive word used no competitive bone in your body very strange, I would suggest that you take up an interest in a sports day at a local convent where nobody loses.
Such a bullshit comment. So because I understand we’re not top of the tree financially but I’m willing to look for signs of progress in individual players, manager and club, that makes me not ‘competitive’?

Such a laughably small minded view. Is there any point teams like Burnley, Southampton etc… even having fans in your world? Or anyone beneath a select few clubs who have the resources to buy success?

I actually feel sorry for you that your whole existence as a fan is dictated by the fact you have irrational hatred for ENIC. Do you even cheer when we score or are you too busy stabbing pins into your voodoo doll of Levy?

The irony that you’re so disconnected from the club that you spend most of your time chatting nonsense on a spurs forum is unreal.

Since the transfer window closed, I’ve largely been pretty disinterested. I’m watching today’s game, but I’ve not watched the last three due to being out with one of the bands.
Can’t really say I’ve missed it.
It’s not just Spurs. It’s all football. I find other things far more interesting and entertaining right now.

Can't believe I am saying this but I think I need a break from this club. I try to be optimistic and see positives in defeats, but this is getting ridiculous now. Might not go to or watch a game for a while and I was thinking yesterday of going to the Mura game LOL.

The whole club is not worth the hassle anymore. Looking at the performance from that group of players today and tell me they are worth getting wound up about. Laughing stock of a club.

Even when Jose got the sack I was hopeful that we would hire someone to turn a new leaf and getting us playing decent football again, but right now it's as bad as it's been in years.

Not only do we have no sense of purpose or identity, but we're also stuck with this manager probably until Christmas at least and there aren't any obvious decent choices to replace him (and even if there were, there's a decent chance Paratici would pick a bum again). So worrying in both the short run and the long run.

Took the family to the park today

was giving lots of chat about getting back in time to watch the game

About 4pm I said the sun is out, everyone is happy....is there any point rushing everyone back for the inevitable disappointment. Stayed out

Never done that on NLD day

I'll moan and moan but I'll always be spurs.

I think the club has been shockingly mid managed to the point where I cant believe people aren't on levy who is the root cause of all these issues, all the time.

I just want to feel proud to be spurs again. Shit owners, shit manager, shit players and shit football.

You go to that new stadium and you think you're getting disneyworld, then the match starts and you realise it's just Thorpe Park with a kick of paint. Still disneyworld prices though!

Wish I'd done that, I hurried everyone home so I could be back in time for the debacle, just in the hope that we might turn up.

For it to be so bad was quite a shock even with our last few performances, I thought they'd get up for the NLD. Lesson learnt, stay out in the sun with your family when you have the chance ?

The Sugar Era was a horrorshow as was the ownership just before that who put us towards bankruptcy so we were playing catch-up from day1 when the PL started.

The ENIC era has been such a mixed bag.

On one hand the brand has grown, the stadium and training ground are incredible and our average league position has improved.

But it’s been our most barren period trophy wise in our existence I believe in terms of major trophies and the running of the football side of the club has been inept and inconsistent at times and utterly clueless at others.

60 bloody years on this planet, and it's starting to dawn on me that I'm probably never going to witness us win the league, having missed the last one by 4 months. I had a brief couple of seasons there, where I thought it might happen, then along came penny-wise the clown and refused to upgrade an aging squad.
That's gone now, and it's going to take something special to get anywhere near where we were. I'll probably get dementia just as we get good again and won't be able to appreciate it........apologies to anyone out there actually affected by dementia. I don't mean it light-heartedly.

Sad, innit?

I didn’t even watch second half and I’ve never done that for NLD, I feel kinda sad that I cared that little about it. I’m not even that pissed off that we lost because I expected it.

Seriously considering selling my season ticket for Sunday, just don’t think I can find the motivation to spend my time and money travelling there to see us serve up another shower of shite under a coach clearly out of his depth.

Let's not forget the enic era has been part of the premier league becoming ridiculously lucrative.

They have chosen to bulk up the infrastructure as opposed to going for it on the pitch it's not like they have put their money in

On the pitch it's been frustrating. A couple of real high moments let down by their reluctance to go that extra mile when it comes to the playing side.
