Did we though? I'm still not convinced we actually did. How much negotiating is there to do? Porto named a price, we repeatedly refused to meet it.

Also, what about the fact that we did pay the asking price for pretty much everyone we bought this summer? I know we had the Bale money coming, but Levy's not one to give people free cash for nothing.

We release so little information regarding transfer dealings and allow the manager to say so little, I don't think anyone really knows Levy's actions or intentions in any window.

By the way, if AVB wanted Moutinho, Hulk and Willian, I'm pretty glad Levy didn't agree with him. Moutinho is overpriced, Hulk is just not very good at all, and Willian has barely scraped into the Chelsea side.

Perhaps they would've worked well together behind Soldado with Sandro in there, but we'll never know. I don't think people can go around blaming Levy for AVB's unrealistic demands when it comes to players though - what they can blame Levy for is allowing AVB to think he had a chance of getting those players.

How do you know they were unrealistic requests? A £100m budget makes a lot pretty darn realistic! Secondly, it doesn't matter what you or I think of AVB's targets. A professional was hired to do a job and he apparently wasn't provided the tools and resources he asked for. The whole point is that there should've been little to no interference in how he did things.
