I've got to say regardless of who we all think is to blame for the current crisis i feel like somebody has died, i havent had this feeling too often over the last 30+years following Spurs as a result of of something football related only the 1987 FA Cup Final defeat to Coventry, Chelsea winning the Champions League & knocking us into Europa compare. An awful feeling of total loneliness, trying to rack my brains as to why it always feels like it only happens to us & what its going to take to put it right ?

Well............................I actually feel more ashamed by some of the shit some members are posting on the forum than the result last night!

We have all these threads about laughing at other teams especially the L'Pool one but I guess the saying "who laughs last, laughs the loudest" could not be more true.

Please, I'm begging some of you on here, get a fucking grip!! Look at the bigger picture here. We sack a manager (that's if he was sacked) after 2 heavy defeats but still we're no where near the bottom of the table. The fans boo the players when they're going through a blip instead of cheering them on to get back the lost confidence. I know that some will say I pay my money so I'm entitled to boo, well save yourself some money but more importantly, save your dignity (because you do sound like right inbreds when you boo the team/manager) and watch the game from the privacy of your home where no one can see/hear you acting like an idiot. I'm thinking it's our Jewish connections, which we all love; we're the Chosen Club after all. But them footballing Gods fucked up with their calculators! How many years are we supposed to spend in the wilderness?

One thing i can honestly say is ive never booed our team ever - no matter how bad its been, theres just something about Spurs i love, like its part of me.

One thing that did make me feel sad yesterday was hearing a story that AVB arrived with Christmas presents for all the players (if its true) on Monday morning before learning his services were to be terminated ?

I feel like a skunk has just marked his territory on my shoe and then followed through for good measure.... of course, it might just be the bloke in front of me on this bus... either way, something stinks.

A bit meh.

It's Spurs, this is what we do, time after time, after time.

However, I am embarrssed that the match thread is public viewing, embarrassing. No wonder spours fans are one of the most hated, arrogant & spiteful bunch of fans.

(there were many with decent, honest opinions and thoughts, just difficult at time due to the amount of shit being spouted).

A déjà vu kind of nothingness. As the good Doc said, all these threads where people laugh at the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, etc made me feel uncomfortable along with the we're too big for cup competitions big time Charlie attitude, as if we've been qualifying for top 4 for years and out grown them. The current situation was always entirely predictable to me.

It the spurs way, the romantic powers of a new dawn and the belief that things have actually changed this time. Its just a case of how big a gun we eventually choose to shoot ourselves in the face with.

Only spurs - it doesnt matter who is in charge, we will find a way to somehow spectacularly implode. Lasagna gate, Crouch's sending off after 14 mins in the Champions League (i mean seriously, when does that happen???), finishing 4th and not get into the CL after throwing away a huge points advantage.

I have no idea whats going to change it. Now or ever really.

With missed the boat on being able to give a manager time as we have become outside contenders in recent years, flirting with the dizzy heights of 'Top 4'dom. We need to keep pace and stay close to where the money is (i.e CL places) or else we get twitchy fingers and try to change things to ensure we get there and stay there.

I dont think we were wrong to hire AVB, the plan just didnt work out and i am not convinced giving him more time would have yielded better results because, time hadnt shown us very much promise in terms of his willingness to want to grow himself as a manager. More to just succeed his way or die trying.

We need to make the right choice - find the right balance of manager who can build solid but in an innovative way,. These type of managers are tough to come by at the best of times let alone the week before xmas.

There is nothing to do but what we have always had to, hold on tight for the ride. As attested to already, we all get frustrated and emotional but a sense of realism is also needed to keep us grounded and not over reacting like some people after last nights defeat.

I'd go with these types of levels...

Level: Legendary - postage count over 100,000
Level: Mastery - postage count over 50000
Level: Top Dog - postage count over 30000
Level: Thinks he's top dog, but is really a show pony - postage count over 20000
Level: Middle of the road, working his way up - postage count over 15000
Level: I'm just one of the boys - postage count over 7500
Level: Just a grunt - postage count over 1000
Level: What the fuck am I doing here - postage count under 1000

Not sure if that helps though.

I was having a laugh with the Jewish connection and the Chosen Club joke, mate. I know it's there and I respect it, but when I started going to the Lane, there really wasn't any awareness of that from anyone. I remember a Leeds chant that I won't repeat, was in the late '70s I think - and that was the first time I'd heard anything - i had to ask a mate what that was about. He didn't know, and an old fella told us. I really don't care about the word. I know how it came about as a defensive reaction to the abuse, I sang it myself. But it never had any great connection for me as a fan. We're a multicultural fanbase, always have been. Spurs and our search for the Promised Land is our own. In the end, no organized religion could ever understand us! We're a very special football club!;)
