When he was successful at Chelsea my thought was " at least I dont have to watch that kind of football every week " the same thoughts were when he was at Man Unt . I want to win Trophies but the truth is since my first game going in 1951 we dont very often win things but I am still going to matches because in the main the football and the players have given me enjoyment . It seems to me that my thoughts on his style of football was correct . Under his management with backing and be certain it has to be with backing we could win every trophy imaginable plus the derby and the grand national . With the style of football he plays my attitude would be " so What " I go to football thru the good and bad but generally entertained . Watching Jose ball for me is painful and the last word I can think is enjoyable .
I am a lot of things including being sometimes hypocrit but what I am not is a masocist I am not going to watch even if it wins trophies a style of play what is for me a painful watch . So I want him gone yesterday .

Mourinho's average time in a job seems to have been roughly 2.5 years, and he has generally lasted to about 30 games either way of the 150 game mark.

By the end of this season he will have in be charge of us for about 1.5 years and over 90 games. Another season with us and we would be going into the territory of this becoming one of his longest jobs. That in itself is quite interesting. Especially if this turns out to be one of his least successful, or least "decorated" jobs.

Players also want to compete on the biggest stage against the best in Europe. That's why quality players want to come here, not specifically to maybe win a Carling Cup or even an FA Cup. Fans love a Wembley final but they also love a jaunt round Europe.

Of course they do but the two don't need to be mutually exclusive however winning trophies will take precedent over everything.

He's been here 18 months, doesn't know his best 11, doesn't have any kinda of style of play. Why would I want another season of this rubbish.

Even if he gets top 4 why would you waste giving him another season with champions league football. We have already seen how bad we are under him in Europe.

Give till the end of the season, that's it.

It seems as though you'll find the answer to that question in the Harry Kane thread.

I want to watch decent football again. No point getting rid now as we are quite close to the end of the season but I really don’t want to have to watch this ‘’football’’ next season.

Went for the end of the season, but that assumes I don't have to see Sissoko, Winks or Dier in the staring line-up at any point and that I don't have to see Doherty playing any part in the first team.

As much as I hate myself for saying this but " we must keep Jose because Kane is a believer " is nonsense in the extreme what none of us want but may have to do is if Kane wants out because Jose is let go then so be to and the transfer fee would go some way to help the rebuild .
There is a list of players that when sold going back to Greaves and recently Modric t thought it was the start of a massive decline when the fact is we have moved on to better things . Just saying I dont Want Kane to leave but the price is too much if it means Jose stays .

There is nothing wrong with either of those players

If there were fans in the stadium, I think it would have already been over. Maybe after the Liverpool game, maybe Brighton, maybe Leicester. Some time around then, Dec-Jan. If we roll forward a bit more to the West Ham game, the team has dropped from top to 9th in about 6 weeks, so it could have been then too.

Losing like that to Zagreb was embarrassing. For everyone. The players should be ashamed too. If the Villa game had gone badly, with this international break coming, perhaps this would have been the time.

Now, having won that, with a final coming up, and still in with a shout of 4th or 5th place, it'll be the end of the season. I don't think a manager survives such poor performances without major problems being evident, either with the players, the management, the approach to games or the coaching during the week. Or all of those but they won't be selling 2/3 of the squad, so it will be the manager and his staff to go.

Currently I'm stuck between the last two options. At least until the end of the season and if he can turn it around with a strong finish then brilliant, keep it going indefinitely. That being said, I'd like him to oversee outgoings this summer regardless of how the rest of the season goes so that when the next manager comes in we don't have to go through the motions with the same players all over again.

I just don't see what giving him another season and then decimating the squad is going to change.

Why would you trust him with a "rebuild" (which I don't think is needed anyway) when he can't even manage what he has right now, there are no signs that he has what it takes to improve the team.

I would really love to see what we work on in training because nothing seems to be translating to match day games, realistically we are just surviving off player talent.

It was a close call for me, between options 2 and 3.
A week or so ago I would've gone for option 2 but after the Villa showing, as in the squad selection, I've gone for option 3.
I'm backing him over the bad seeds and want to give him the chance to get rid of them and have a proper go.
A lot of this thinking comes from the way we played in the last days of Poch. Until we sort the squad out, getting rid of another manager is just delaying the inevitable again as the same shit will happen again.

I'm hoping that Levy will see what's happening and give Jose everything he needs to sort the squad out.
That doesn't mean an endless supply of cash, just getting rid of those that manager can't trust and moving forward from there.
If our senior players support him, such as Kane and Hugo etc, then he's got my support too.

In all honesty though, Jose seems to see the problems in our squad and I’m happy for him to see this through for the next couple of seasons. His signings last summer were all sensible ones (Hojbjerg, Reggie, back up striker, RB) he understood the unbalance in our team.

He is now starting to drop the bad eggs. He’s been spot on with the issues in our squad and looks like he’s trying to sort it. I’m keen for him to see this through and see where we end up. Maybe going a few steps back will spring us a lot of steps forward.

He's already signed one right back, a CB he doesn't play, and three forwards. How many more does he need before we get a team he's happy with?

If he's a world-class coach, after 18 months shouldn't he be getting the best out of the players at his disposal?

I agree we need quite a few new players, but we saw at United that he just kept buying and buying.
Very much agree and worried about this which is why for me if Naggelsmaaaaaaan is available in summer we go balls deep to get him in.

I don't think Modric leaving in any way helped us to move "on to better things". It took 4 years, 3 managers and the emergence of Harry Kane before we moved on to better things. In the meantime, we regressed to playing less effective / less entertaining football and competing in the Europa League.

That’s Levy after eating too much muesli.
