I think at this point we should get rid off him at the end of the season, unless he manages to pull of top 4 and the CC. If he does that then he deserves another season for sure

2nd option but I would have said sacked in the morning after Zagreb. The revelations about divisions have shown its not all about him - were there these divisions under Poch? I have to say he has probably made it worse by frosting too much and defrosting too little. The main thing is no obvious candidate to take over.

Any reasonable person would agree with that.. But it's not going to happen

My personal feeling is that we need a complete rebuild and the way that Nagelsmann approaches football is how I want my team to play and I believe that would be best for the long term. All I want is what is best for the club.

However so long as top4 is there to be played for he deserves to stay and if he makes top4 then I think he has earnt the right to have another season. I do think if we could somehow be in the champions league and have Nagelsmann at the helm then that'd be incredible but Jose would have earnt the right to stay regardless of what I think.

The option I want isn’t listed.

It’s keep until end of the season and then he leaves. This season has been such a shambles - capped spectacularly by the unforgivable EL exit - that I don’t see a future for him here, regardless of what happens in the last few games of the season (barring some sort of insane miracle where we win nigh-on every game).

If he left today we’d be no better off than when he joined almost a year and a half ago. Disaster.

agree with that even though am not a Jose fan but if we win that final and he overhauls Chelski he does deserve another year. Would go so far as to say that if he gets top 4 that is enough for one more year.
Would rather have Jose out and an entire new structure on the football side put in but seems unlikely.

End of the season then judge on various factors. The biggest one for me really is "Is Kane backing him?" because I honestly think that Kane is the most important individual at the club and we should be doing everything in our power to keep him happy and keep him here.

If he has Kane's backing he should stay, if he doesn't he should go regardless of results either way.

How will the upcoming preseason with the multiple tournaments be considered more normal than the preseason he had this season?
That's a good point. Maybe we need to give him until the start of the Qatar World Cup (Nov 22) then :ROFLMAO:

There will still be more considerably time to plan than last summer (when the season end and start dates were uncertain until mid-summer) and some of our players will return to the club well before the tournaments end. At least Mourinho will have plenty of time to work with Doherty out, if he intends to keep him around.

The big issue with this summer is the uncertainty on whether fans will be fully back I reckon and the finances available. I think the big problem for Jose and Spurs is that we can't wait until a couple of months in to see what's happening because 1. Our main target has said he doesn't want to leave midseason 2. It would mean we would have to wait another season for the manager to get his first pre-season. 3. We would have spent money and built a team going in 1 direction then course correct again and 4 there's not that many managers out there good enough so we can't really have a "wait and see attitude" We either need to back him and that's our direction for the season or make the difficult change now so the new man can build in his image.

Also I think Doherty Spurs career was over the second Reguilon signed.

Until the end of the season but unless he gets top 4 and wins the carabao cup, if we can get nagglesman I’d like us to do that as ultimately I don’t think Jose is the best fit for us as a club, but as said before if he gets top4 and wins cup then regardless or what I or anyone want he would certainly deserve to stay on no doubt about it.

I've always said he has to be given to the end of the season, nothing's changed for me. None of our targets would be available until the summer anyway and however slim our chances of winning the Carabao Cup are, I don't think you get rid of Jose Mourinho before a cup final, that's his bread and butter and games like that are literally the reason why he was brought in.

Ah bollocks.

Saw the title of the thread & thought it was about the sentence he should get for hugging John Terry on Sunday night.

Went for end of the season - but I think 'turning it around' would have to constitute better squad harmony and better style of play as well as just results.

Pity both options aren't in the poll. Stay until the end of the season & then get rid of him. And a separate one for he can stay if he turns it around.

That said, it doesn't matter to me. I went straight for the first option & felt all warm inside.

I want him here until the end of the season. If we don't make CL then i'm not sure if I would want him to continue.

100% no champions league then he has to go for me, some of the performances this season have been the worst i have seen in 40+ years and that takes some beating form the 90's too

Personally if we have the chance to hire JN we have to take it this summer. Another season he will be somewhere else and he has already said he won't change jobs mid season. We simply have to act this summer. He will reinvograte the support and get back to having a young progressive coach.

I think Jose is already too far gone, can't see him turning it around with a big enough uptick in results and performances plus getting top 4.

The elephant in the room, is will changing manager sabaotage our efforts to get rid of Sisssoko, Dier Winks etc I really hope not.

He should see out the season. Not much point in anything else. If we somehow manage to beat City in the final and get top 4, he obviously won't and shouldn't get fired. But I really want Nagelsmann if he's available.

And this is why I'd keep him next season.
He knows the players and knows which ones are worth keeping and which ones need to go. We currently need someone who can overhaul the squad first.
Whether he can take us forward in terms of quality of performance is still to be seen, but at least someone new coming in stands a chance with a higher standard of squad to start with.

The thing with boiled eggs is that if they crack slightly whilst simmering (obviously I heat the water from cold anyway) I actually find it makes the shell a lot easier to remove once they’re finished cooking. Seems the slight water ingress helps to separate the shell from the whites.
