And the problem with Redknapp, now, which is finally making my mind up, is that if it all goes South for Woy in the Euros the 'Arry clamour will just start it's old self up again...decision postponed, or decision delayed?

The positives of HR not leaving this year are that we get to see BR and PL in the EPL for 1 more year, which will be a good test of their respective abilities.

Let us not forget that Pep should be ready to sign for a new club within a year.. :cautious:

Meh, I saw sense earlier and let Sloth make my mind up for me. Talks a lot of sense that boy!

Still have no idea who we should get though.

When it all goes south for Woy you mean. ;)

The question is do we bide our time and hope the FA sack Woy after the Euros and pay us compensation for Redknapp? Seeing as the Euros end in early July and the transfer window opens for us on August 31st, I think it might be worth waiting.

Well...yeah...the only hope he might have would be if the English media and footballing public realised that they have a pretty sheeee-ite team, really, who just do not have a divine right to steam-roll even middle-range international teams.

I remember him saying that sort of thing at Liverpool too, didn't help him at all. And everyone knew Liverpool were shit at that time. If we lose a few games and go out in the group stage, and Woy comes out and says it's because the players aren't good enough, I can't even think to imagine what the media will do to him. He's perfectly positioned to be made a scapegoat.

Interesting, but seems a little lopsided...as most axe-grindy type of thangs are. For instance, Trevor Brooking is a simple, benevolant guardian angel, saving the FA from making a dreadful mistake that is will live to regret, and not, as we have heard here, today, a bitter, flawed individual who still, after all this time, cannot accept that Redknapp got his Wet Spam job.

Not sure - I think it's not really an answerable question because it simply all depends on how we do! I want him to stay as long as we qualify for the champions league.

So it depends on just how fickle you are feeling when asked?

Give him until the end of his contract (another year) to see if he can get us back up to the form we were in where we were 3rd. If he does give him a new contract. If we get no CL this and next year, boot him at end of next season.

I would be tempted to get Capello in though this summer if he was interested.

The press thing rings true. Alarmingly so. Also, the tactical fuck-ups, yeah, can anyone deny this still?

Apart from that, depending on which side of the fence you sit on, you can take what you need from it to justify your stance.

I don't get the ire he draws - it seems personal from some such is the strength of anger he causes. I'm definitely at peace with his time coming toa close here if it happens though. Bit of a gamble with a new guy but then again, I don't see H as the perfect manager either and am not fearful of a total collapse should he leave. Others probably and do feel differently.

I don't blame Harry totally for the second half collapse of this season but then I didn't credit him completely with the first half season heroics either.

He's no Frank Brettell, that's for sure. :)

"Club Chairman at the time Terry Brown claims in Brian Belton’s biography Brown Out Harry was tactically illiterate and he relied heavily on first Frank Burrows then brother-in-law Frank Lampard. As somebody who went to a lot of away games over that period I’d echo those sentiments. Time upon time we would travel with a 3-5-2 formation – used ostensibly to accommodate a playmaker such as Eyal Berkovic or Joe Cole only for it to quickly become 5-3-2 with three static centre-halves as soon as we came under pressure. After yet another heavy defeat Harry would brush off questions about the performance with claims such as, “These lads wouldn’t know how to defend” and expect nobody to question why he had first bought then selected them. Perhaps his behaviour when “accused” of “wheeling and dealing” by a Sky reporter gives us a clue?"

Sound familiar. A variation on the "We were too open today".

Bullshit was the England job a distraction. Playing a stupid selection away at Arsenal and not getting them to press and work was fuck all to do with England. Same at Everton, Norwich and Wembley. Maybe they forgot they were distracted when playing so well at Chelsea, against Bolton and Swansea ?

He was saying how Norwich was the only performance that wasn't good only Sunday. The bloke is a pathological self publicising shit talker.

Ah, yes, I was right when I said he used the 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 a lot.

He's using the FA and England situation now as an excuse because its convenient for him to do ie he didn't get the job.

He's selective in the extreme, that's what really pisses me off.
