talking to my man city supporting friend today and listening to his hatred of mark hughes ....simply because he used to play for the local rivals ...it made me wonder ...do you hate our rivals enough to forsake our own success in exchange for seeing them suffer ???

pick between these two unlikely yet fun choices ....

Any success of ours would bring suffering to the Arsenal diehards. Think how you felt when they did the double.

Now usually I'd go for 3rd place/ 6th place. But consider the long game, Arsenal are laden with debt after the emirates stadium. We, on the other hand look pretty secure, If we both got relegated, they would be more likely to do a Leeds and go bankrupt, wheras we'd be in a better position to go back to the premiership. Personally I'd rather like the idea of Arsenal football club going out of business, and would sacrifice one season of premiership football for it. Just wonder what would happen to all the gooner fans, would they start supporting Man U, or wander the streets like ghosts every saturday, with nothing but distant memories of what used to be their football club.

I dunno, seeing the scum relegated is very tempting (especially if it lead to a Leeds style collapse)

Putting the success of our first it the priority. I'd rather they won the league and we came 3rd than we came 17th and they went down. Anyway yea still dislike them a bit but far more hatrid towards Chelsea and also west ham to an extent who both hurl a barrage more abuse towards us in a far more hateful way than arsenal even do any more. Victory in the CC over Chelsea was soo soo sweet if it had been 5-1 it'd have been even sweeter than the 5-1 over the gooners which i was also at. Chelsea have so many more reasons to hate them now and their arrogant fans and the general ethos of the club makes me hate them whereas i hate to say it arsenal are a well-run 'nice' club.

i despise them with every fibre of my being, we had one of there fans show up to our weekly 5 aside game for a couple of weeks, i went in to tackles that little bit harder for 2 weeks and i mutter twat when i walk past any1 in town with a shirt on, but when alls sais and done, we come 1st.

I actually had a pretty big disagreement with a mate over a similar subject on the way down to the derby season b4 last(the 2-2 jj last minute game) he was saying that beating them was more important than getting europe again. II argued that that was the kind of thinking that youd expect from west ham and we werent so pathetic as to think like that!
It got pretty heated but the end we agreed that i was right.

3rd - no question.

I hate Arsenal with a large chunk of my heart - but I also hate Newcastle. And West Ham. And Everton. And Villa. 3rd would give us some serious crowing rights and a large wodge of dough - that will do for me.

If we finished 3rd I honestly wouldn't care where Arsenal finished. It would obviously hurt if they won the league at the lane on the last day of the season, leapfrogging us and allowing Chelsea to sneak second. That would be nasty. Us 3rd and Arsenal 6th, though - of course I'd take that. Imagine the next season, with our top drawer signings and heroes from the previous season possibly lining up against Europe's best, and realistic hopes of a title challenge.

I would be crushed if we finished 17th and wouldn't even be able to celebrate Arsenal's relegation. It would be a disaster. Can you imagine how shit that season would be? And Ramos would be fired, top players would leave. It would be terrible. The next season there would be no N.London derby games, which I like, and we would be looking to 'rebuild' all over again after being mocked by the likes of Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle, Villa, etc. No thanks.

Oh man [shudders]

That would be nice. On the other hand, I think I would be happy beating them in NLDs and playing CL in the years to come--head to head wins are the best for mickey taking anyway.

I am ammazed if not slightly discusted at how many have voted for the second option, I quite frankly would be happy if Arsenal won the leauge if it meant we came fourth, but more to the point I care about Spurs' results on the pitch more than anything, as for Arsenal - if they win I ignore it, if they lose I have a dig at them... but they mean nothing to me.

Come on you Spurs, we are all that matters!
