I watched 2, maybe 3 Madrid's game this year, and he was very good in all of them.
...
And I heard he was voted worst signing of the season.

RM should hire me, just to watch their games.

Not good at all. Was hoping for him to be shit all year and feel sad and homesick for north london. Would have him back in a heartbeat, great player!

People forget that Modric scored some really nice goals for Tottenham as well (some seemed to forget that after that goal vs. United). Marca put up a few on their site:

Modric's shot isn't a strength, obviously, and he (too) often mishits it. But when he puts his laces through the ball he can hit them as good as anybody. Even those known for their tremendous shot would be hard pressed to find goals of that quality in their resume.

I actually cheered the other night when he scored. I think looking back now I am not too bothered he left us, great player but we got some good money and now have a better (imo) CM partnership in Sandro and Dembele. More physical and beastly. I'd still take Modric back though but I think that goal will kick start his season IF Mourinho plays him....

I'd fucking hate Mourinho to go to Chelsea and then take Modric with him (remember he likes buying players from previous clubs).

I believe it's called "doing a Redknapp."

Marca readers have chosen his goal vs. Liverpool as his best:

My mate is a United fan and I told him that if Mourinho had any sense he would play Modric against United and Madrid would win,if not,United would win.
Mourinho made the correct decision.....................eventually.(HOW CAN ANYONE BRING ON KAKA BEFORE MODRIC?)
Alonso and Khedira were absolutely awful against United and couldn't get a foothold in the game.
Modric came on and played the game how he wanted no-one got near him and he was easily the best player on the pitch.
The game changed again for United when Mourinho handed them the advantage by bringing on a defender when they were totally in control!
Modric is still a world class player no matter what his manager thinks when he doesn't play him.

Alonso was man marked the whole game by Welbeck until Nani got sent off, not surprised that Modric shone in those circumstances when he had space...

Great little cameo though, felt very proud when he scored that goal. As much as we laugh at him for spending time on the bench it's great to see him doing what he does best and why we made such a fuss over him in the first place.

We may not have bought Dembélé without selling Modric, but my God imagine them in a midfield 3!

Indeed would be the ideal situation but I think we are better with a more cam type player anyway.

Imagine VdV with Sandro and Dembele sat behind him >_> mind you we would not have Bale playing central now.

I think we can all agree we let some world class players leave but for me the squad has improved overall....our team seems so solid now and everyone wants to play.

A midfield 3 of Sandro/Parker, Dembele and Modric and AVB would have us a lot closer to Yanited, imo. Simple as that for me.

Still AVB has just had to rejig things instead and next season I think he will have us closer to yanited. So a yr's wait isn't so bad.

All top notch I suppose? That's why he's been voted the worst signing of the season in Spain.

look at his recent performances, not the time he was settling in the team. in the last CL game he did more in 20 minutes than most did in 90

Against 10 men who were chasing the game and so therefore loads of space.

pick as much as you want but you know the truth, he is class and would walk into Barca, Man Utd, Bayern etc...

And as for believing the press and fans voting Worst Signing... you should know from previous, like AvB etc..., that the press & noisiest fans are most often wrong
