Hulk worries me. He is a beast of a player, but I really doubt his actual footballing ability. he has pace and power, but is that enough for a wet cold wintery night away to Stoke?

Haha, I love have this phrase is used every time someone has doubts about a player. I also love how everytime our away fixture to Stoke happens to be in winter, most likely in midweek, and it just happens to be raining that night!

legions of people on twitter jumping to conclusions and claiming we're signing him just because of the picture. embarrassing.

Hulk worked under AVB so of course he is going to show the courtesy of chatting to him, but as danielneeds said if Chelsea couldn't get a deal done with Porto how the hell are we?

So we're happy to spend god knows how many millions on this bulldozer but not 15m on a world class keeper who is yet to turn 26?

Odd.

As I said, just used the Stoke line as a joke. Thought most people would reaslise that. Its commonly thrown out there by many.

Is Leandro in the squad? Maybe he was there to see him?

Yes he is.
As is Ganso who we have been linked with in last two windows.
Although for the wide right forward of a 3 I'd like us to move for Pato.
Blistering pace. Really think he can be top drawer. Probably much better priced than Hulk, although still an expensive deal.

There's no chance of us getting Hulk, he's far too overpriced for us to get involved in that one. Although i can see why we'd want him.

Ryan (Tegan) has said at £40m and £150k pw Hulk is not happening. Given Ryans sources thats good enough for me.

There is an array of talent to choose from in that Brazil side. They wont all fulfil their much hyped potential, otheriwse they'll dominate world football at a level even Spain can only dream about. But there are potential stars there and hopefully we can sign the one that is perhaps least rated now, for a decent fee, that will prosper to become the best of the bunch. Whether thats Damiao, Oscar, Ganso, Lucas Moura, Pato, Hulk, Neymar.......... who knows. For what its worth, IMVHO we may already have the pick of the bunch in Sandro.

On that list of player, Pato, Lucas Moura and Neymar would cost more than Hulk. Ganso has had a bad season this last year, Oscar havent even seen play and Chelsea are already paying 25m pounds for him. We definately got the bargain with Sandro (i hope he plays more this season under AVB).
Also, It's probably a wild idea, but a 60m deal for Hulk and Moutinho with Porto to be paid over 4 years isnt that crazy to be honest. We pay 15m this summer for both and remember they are both around 25 so would still have sell on fees if in a few years we were to sell them to a Madrid, Milan, etc.

If we got £35m for modric and offered £60m for Hulk and Moutinho it could be good business, wages are still going to be an issue though. I don't even know if Hulk is worth over £25m, a lot of people seem to think he's over rated, I've only seen him play a few times so I can't say.

Hasnt had his best season this year, but under AVB he was top class. Him, Mouthino and Falcao were world class. If Oscar is worth 25m and id say Hulk is worth 35 as he is proven in Portugal and won the Europa League with Porto too. He is a beast, but also scores goales which is what we need from the side. Lennon is fast, but we know he wont score many goals if he's to play on the right side of a 4-3-3 formation.
