I feel a bit of a twat asking this .... but I don't get to WHL as often as I used to. Just trying to buy a ticket for the game against Chelsea. Away fans are in the South Stand, right? (I don't particularly want to sit right behind or in front of them, thanks.)

Yes they are in the South West of the South stand but you won't be placed in front or behind them.

Upper North is pretty good view, isn't it? Better than Lower North, as far as I remember.

I'm going back a long way - started supporting at the beginning of the 70s, started going regular about 1980. North Stand was noisy then!

We used to stand under the shelf. Turn up 15 mins before kick off, pay your three quid (yes, three quid - and I was an adult). Wander in, stand wherever you like - usually right on the half way line, best view in the house. Good days ... (and the peanut man came round when you got hungry.)

I would think it's been a very long time since the Paxton was known for a better atmosphere than park lane or shelf side. I can remember back from the mid 70's and the atmosphere was always south east corner even then

Paxton was louder but then so was everywhere. Now of course the North Stand is the family stand which makes it even quieter

I've always been quite fond of East Lower or Upper as when used to work on turnstiles we'd sometimes get tickets and that's where they'd often be.

Nah West Stand is where it's at. Daniel Levy is always starting the "when I was just a little boy.." chant and setting off flares.
