Some contradictory evidence - I'm fairly sure he's in the last year of his contract and that he can effectively sign as a free transfer next summer, however another poster claimed he signed a new deal with Juve before being loaned out which makes the deal somewhat very odd indeed.

Exactly this.

I'm with all of you in the whole what's in it for us idea but we loan out young players all the time to give them experience etc. I appreciate this is a different kind of level to us loaning to championship clubs but maybe we just did it for squad depth for europa league and carling cup and didn't wanna pay out for it.

One of our scouts may have said this kid is good, lets see if we can loan him and maybe that will give us a shot at buying him too.

There may not be an option to buy written in is what I'm saying but honestly, who cares if there isn't.....doesn't mean we wont buy him in the long run should he settle in really well and be a good player.

Anyway, this isn't really ITK.....sorry.

EDIT

Just seen there is an option to buy......I'll shut up now then, hahaha!

All I was saying was lets not beat up on the deal, just support it.

As he hasn't really played at the top level I'm not sure I fully understand how we're going to use him but I'm sure someone has it under control. The option to buy makes it a much more sensible deal...I just hope we get to see enough of him to make a sensible decision.

Hands up all those who think this is a sucky signing because he has no more experience than the second tier of the last league he played in. Now, hands up all those who think Kyle Walker deserves to step straight into our first team, ahead of Corluka? And anyone who thinks that Harry Kane, Livermore & Rose don't deserve a shot in our squad.

None of these players have top flight experience more than a few minutes here and there, yet we have faith that these youngsters can make the grade, so why shoot down Iago before any of you have even seen him, let alone seen him play?

Chill, winston(s).

Could be a good signing. I'm sure this wasn't at the expense of a more experienced player, so I'm all for trying to strengthen for the future. If he flops then we haven't lost anything. If he tears it up then we can sign him permanently, can't we?

Iago Falqué: was followed by United, Ajax when he went to Juve. Skilfull left winger, needs to work harder. Quality, dynamism and vision.

To those shitting on this guy for his lack of top flight appearances, how much was Andy Carroll worth at the beginning of last season, aged 21?

If the kid has the raw ability and can fit with the way we want to play then he's worth a crack. I think in this country we've become way too quick to write kids off if they haven't made an impact by 18/19. Everyone matures at different ages, both physically and mentally, so there's no reason whatsoever why a player can't really up their game at 22/23 or even later.

Why the uproar?

Decent prospect, low risk, high reward signing.

The problem will be Redknapp's lack of ability to handle these types of players. Johnny Two Saints II.
