Honestly, I can't get over how many people on this site are so excited by two loan signings... what a sign of ambition by our esteemed chairman (not).

THFC - now serving as a shop window for "big" clubs like Man City and Juve. Maybe if we're lucky Arsenal or Utd will loan us on of their youngsters who needs a bit of experience too.

I'm sure Modric is really impressed.

No, its called being a trialist, they are incredibly common in the world of football. You rarely hear about them, because normally nothing happens. He clearly impressed. I suspect if his loan is a success we have a agreement to sign him.

Yer I agree with you  Sorry, what I meant to refer to was that I thought it was a bit strange because we had ITK calling this a 'mystery' signing. Doesn't seem like much of a mystery if he'd already been around the club for a week.....

In Italy all the big clubs loan off each other, it goes round in circles. People must realize a player should not be viewed on the basis of good and bad, but if the player fits the system. We obviously thought that these two players did so. We have to trust their judgment.

barca didn't want him and he can't get in to a shit juventus team,he doesn't sound great tbh, hope i'm wrong

I'm not sure that Barca didn't want him, i think its more a case that Juve offered him faster progression into 1st team football and turned his head.

You've got to remember that Italian football is a lot slower than the EPL and his style of football might be much better suited to that of Spurs??

To me, he comes here with a clean slate and i wish him the best of luck, hopefully we've got ourselves a diamond in the rough and we'll all be chanting his name come the end of the seaon!

The only thing that matters is whether he is any good.

Loan signings are great ways to strengthen a squad without having to risk alot of money. Prudent way going forward.

I can't make sense of this unless we have a solid option to buy written into the contract. He must have impressed enough on trial to be worth the effort, hopefully Italian footy just doesn't suit him and he turns out to be the balls!

Youtube is a bit thin on the ground for footage, as you might expect, but this is a nice little goal from the kid..

See, i much prefer it when we make a signing like this - sure, we have a fair sized midfield selection, but i assume that this means at least one will be off before the end of the window (Sarge?), and he's not coming to us with a massive weight of expectation on his shoulders.

He's not a tall lad but he's got a bit of beef on his bones by the look of him, and produced 11 goals from 36 for Villareal B, on loan, which isn't a bad turnover even if the competition isn't top flight.

This is the type of player who i expect isn't on a huge wage (well, can almost guarantee it, it's Spurs afterall) but has the potential to develop into a role - not too old that he can't adapt, old enough to apply a little professionalism and experience to his situation.

It's a good recipe. Welcome to the Lane, Iago.

Missed this from Archie:

its only a loan due to something to do with work permit
(or work 'contract' as he later said)

This makes more sense, it sounds like a would-be permanent deal. All good if that's the case.

i) Work permits don't exist any more.

ii) Even when they did, EU citizens didn't need them.

Think Archie has got his wires crossed.

He meant something like that, he clearly didn't mean work permit. The point is, the deal is intended to be permanent when he can sort out a certain issue.

Here's the rest:

thats what i thought but somethin to do with work contract... i honesly dont get it but should be lon to perm

I'm sure it's been said 10 times over but I wonder if some poor ITK mis-heard Falque and linked us to Falcao.
