Would love this one to happen.
This is a terrible comparison. Gueye was a ligue 1 winning midfielder who had been part of a successful Lille midfield for 5 years and over 200 appearances before coming in the PL. Lille are a good team. Not a relegated team with a terrible defensive record.I recall one Idrissa Gueye who played for Aston Villa, was very good for Everton and next sunday will play in Champions League final. Pretty sure there is a lot of another exaples.
If he's half as good as Ndombele is we would sign absolutely fantastic player.given our past record on signing players from France - I am surprised with the level of excitement about finding a hidden gem of a defensive midfielder who just masterminded his club finishing bottom of the French league

He literally had one bad game which was Burnley away, the rest was at least good.that really remains to be seen on what we have seen so far of Ndombele we have a sulky injury prone player who has achieved very little in his first season
but I will raise you Nije Strambouli Capoue Nkoudou as examples of little known French lads who arrived and disappeared just as quickly
He was dreadful at Norwich???Ndombele had one bad game thats stretching it a bit he was dreadful at Norwich and to be honest he has hardly managed to get in the side most of the season - I don't think no one knows where he fits into a side which is the most worrying thing for me.
The rest of em none of play for Spurs - Lloris was an international and Moura is Brazilian and another international when you are buying top end of the marked in France fair enough but the hidden gem players we have found in France have been awful so its fairly hard to get excited about another French League nobody who looks alright on youtube
Lol what - https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/ta...ottenham-praises-phenomenal-after-performanceNdombele had one bad game thats stretching it a bit he was dreadful at Norwich
Seeing a tall lumbering DM with good stats but not eye catching play just sets off red flag after red flag for me. Mobility and pace is extremely important in the modern game, I know you can give me Busquets or Matic as a counter example but that’s the way the game is headed. He's definitely more Kondogbia or Imbula, than Gueye, Kante or Ndidi. The second group have shown the type of player that is very effective in the Prem. They seem to float across the ground, at a rapid pace, and really hunt the ball down. Florentino Luis is a player in that mould.
Sangare is one of those big units, that is a good ball winner, but nothing much else. He's a poor passer, which is already a concern with PEH. Sangare's passing hasn't shown any signs of getting better and I don't really see why it would, as he's just not a technically gifted player. He's not one of those young players were there looks like there is much more to come from. He already makes a lot of tackles and interceptions and this has been at the same level for the last 2 years. His passing, as I've already said, doesn't seem to have improved over time and when you watch him, it's not going to either. He's not really a goal threat. Really, he's just a ball winner and I think the more nimble players, like Kante and Ndidi are better suited to Prem football.
He was dreadful at Norwich???
One week ago we bought player who is ideal to play with Ndombele and Lo Celso in midfield three.
Lloris was an international same as Ndombele was, you also said about signings from French league and listed Njie so why not include Lucas?
You see. This is where I disagree. Pace is useful, but if you have intelligence and discipline it's vital. I mean, being agile to some degree is also important but.Seeing a tall lumbering DM with good stats but not eye catching play just sets off red flag after red flag for me. Mobility and pace is extremely important in the modern game, I know you can give me Busquets or Matic as a counter example but that’s the way the game is headed.
But because Kante and Gueye were also French players it doesn’t matter right?
It's also obscene how much more mobile he looks in that video than he did at the end of the season. As if someone had messed with the aspect ratio of the video to make him look more slenderA highlight reel of NDombele when he has the ball is always going to be impressive, it's what he does without it that's the issue. He doesn't have to be a full blooded tackling machine but does have to look vaguely interested at keeping up with play and closing down the odd attack.
