Do you want our club to spend within its means?

Last year we made 600k. Is that all we should spend on players or more?

If you want to spend 20-30m on players, then we need new owners, or risk massive debt.

If truth be told I would probably be elated at the first big signing then, distraught at the realisation that the dream would be over, for me supporting spurs is about dreaming that one day I will see us win titles. If we do it without someone's billions I know we will still have to dream in order to do it again. If we have endless funds it all becomes a little fake and predictable.

I prefer to have dreams

Look, right this minute we're not that far off Chelsea, are we? And we don't have the Russian. We might win something this year and they might win nothing. So in effect we're having the best of both worlds, thanks to Levy. Enjoy it while it lasts, I am.

Supporting/following any of the top three super rich clubs must be a very shallow experience.

I think that may be a bit unfair on United. The reason they are where they are has a lot to do with Fergie. You can argue the money they've spent they've earned and their signings have been backed up by some incredible home-grown players. I have no love to Utd, but it's not the same as Chelsea or Man City. Same goes for Arsenal, unfortunately.

EDIT: To add, Utd have arguably been hampered by big, seemingly rich foreign owners. Saddled with debt repayments etc etc.

Agree. Except that according to my (admittedly limited) understanding the problem isn't so much the level of debt, which they can afford. It's that the owners are paying themselves a lot of money.

Not entirely sure what Liverpool's situation is now. They should be up there financially except that they seem to be an extremely badly run club. At least in the recent past. If I were Fenway Sports Group, I would be following the template set by either one of Spurs/Levy, the Arse/David Dein or Manure (not sure who was in charge pre-Glazers). Not sure they are given the seemingly reckless spending they indulge in every transfer window.

United supporters who under the age of 40 'in the main' are the shallowest!

The club is the product of great marketing and business management. The football has benefited from those big revenue streams

SAF has spent several fortunes and not always wisely - has been paying £30m+ for player for many many years. Running Man.U is hardly rocket science...

I admire the likes of the Everton's of this world.

I would be much less happy than I am with Levy at Spurs, but I'm pretty sure that the silverware would sweeten the deal. I admire the people saying that they would stop watching football etc. but surely we should be Spurs fans regardless of the management/chairmen/board.

I would however make a point of saying that I supported the club since before the money came in.

i personally dont know how sh*tty and chelski fans go to sleep at night. over the past few years our club has been on the rise while established clubs like the scum have been on the decline - this is without the masses of wealth that they have (relative to us). we've achieved this on our own merit showing us that we needn't waste our times thinking about the wealth that we could have had and instead should focus on building on what we have the way we have been as it has been showing positive results. if it aint broke, dont fix it!

I don't trust Levy, but if we had Ambrovich even more of our fans would turn into spoilt brats.

City fans for me are OK they have been through some tough times and got lucky, so fair play to them.
Its all those that jump on the bandwagon 'Iv'e been a fan since 2010' and their 18 y.o. and used to support the likes of Bolton types that get me.

If Abramovich owned us, the club would shit money but I wouldn't feel the same amount of pride with regards to how the club is run, as I do now.

Funny thing is that Levy is just a frugal version of Abrahmovic. Both are cases of owners getting way too involved in the football side of the club and football decision making.

Any chief exec, Levy is not an owner per say, worth his salt - cant get "too" involved.

Joe Lewis is our Abramovich or the nearest we get.

Perhaps it's wise just to focus on what Levy has achieved in his decade in charge.

Why do you not "trust" Levy. Personally I think the fact he wants to profit from THFC's success financially has helped make him steer the club in the right direction.

Not sure what you mean by the spoilt brats comment.

.

If they are businessmen picking players and making themselves acting DOF, then yeah I'd say someone can get "too" involved.

I know what he is achieved but no one is above criticism, I remember all that business of going behind Jol's back to tap up Ramos. At the moment I think we have a good manager who could be our manager for many years to come. He has told by Levy to get top four, I feel he's come into the season with one hand tied behind his back and still has it tied behind the back. If he doesn't get top four I don't trust to keep him on. I think his expectations should be realistic, we haven't bought Moutinho, we lost our 2 best players, we only have two strikers, one of which may be going to the ANC, leaving us with one striker. I think it is amazing we have done this well so far.

Those who disregard any cup which is not the premier league or champions league and think they have an automatic right to be top four, I'm grateful to be in the Europa cup, let alone the CL.
