How do you think we'll fare?

I must say I have a horrible feeling in my gut that this is it...bar a few and outs and a last minute panic buy (17 year old right back from Flamengo) I really feel we are done after this.

I think if you look at it we will have a pretty strong team. I think the main issue's are that the league has got so competitive and we will be left with some gaping holes.

I think Adebayor will score goals for us no matter what and usually one of Defoe/Pav or Crouch is on form.

I think our midfield is also strong..with the likes of VDV, Lennon, Bale and Kranjcar (so disapointed in Luka I can barely tpe his name :( we have real attacking strenght and Sandro and Parker provide some muscle and backbone with Thudd also available.

Friedel seems like a bit of a coup (sure he's only let in 8 in the last two games ;). In all seriousness though I think he is a safe pair of hands which is all you need.

This brings me to my main concern...our biggest weaknes, our defence. I am sorry but it is nowhere near good enough. Bassong, Dawson and Kaboul are imo nowhere near the level of quality needed to build a campaign on. It will be interesting to see how Gallas does but I fear another season on might be too much...same for King (who I pretty much discount from discussion now....any play time is just a very pleasant bonus for us).

I am so upset and angry that we have not bolsterred the defence. This club has a long tradition in recent times of ignoring key areas of weakness during the transfer windows and I believe it is continuing.

We still have a good team. We are a strong side with lots of quality....I just feel there is now one too many chink's in the amour and with other sides improving its gonna be a tough slog....Really think we could end up anywhere from 5th-8th this season.

Well. if Adebayor doesn't break both legs first game out, we have a chance for 4th against assnal and pool.

Ade will no doubt suffer a career-ending injury on debut though, seeing as we have zero cover, and so, apart from an uptick against Wolves and Wigan, we're fuct. Properly so. 5th or 6th at best.

I don't think there will be much between us, Arsenal and Liverpool. It could go either way tbh. Top 6 is a must, but we can just about challenge top 4. I guess it depends on what Arsenal do too. So far I think we're level with them in terms of quality. If they splash their money on a top class player it might push them ahead of us.

The next few days are crucial.

Parker might help shore up the midfield, but I don't think harry has a defensive or offensive game plan, or he cannot communicate it to the players, so its all pretty academic. His style of management is a bit too 'fast and loose'.

We will find a bit of form, beat teams out of form, struggle against the new top 4 and struggle against defensive, organised teams.

We needed to do our transfer business sooner for sure, and that will hurt us this season. However if we can offload a few more players before the window shuts at least we will have the space and massively importantly a clearer idea of what we need to get in.

I think Liverpool will emerge as dark horses out of all this. They look decent this season and I can see them taking 4th by some way and leaving us to fight over the scraps with Le Arse.....I do think we are prett even quality wise now barring something big in next few days but I worry the experience of Arsenal will tell and see them just pip us again.

I think we need a very good Centre Back alongside Parker and then we are done and we can challenge for fourth

It would be a good window but what I would really like to see is someone to challenge Lennon for that spot on the right. It's absurd to have Bale, Kranjcar, Modric and Pienaar who can all play on the left but no one (except VdV who shouldn't) to challenge Lennon for his spot.

I'm hoping the links during the summer to Marin, Afellay and Ruiz is some kind of indication that this is something we are interested in.

It'll be frustrating to say the least. At the start of the window I was very happy to get Parker in as our CM addition, but after so very nearly signing Diarra it'll be a massive let down. We still also need at least another striker and cover for Lennon and Bale, neither of which look like being sorted. I'll reserve my rage and bile till the end of the window, given that we've had so much "wait and see" and "patience is a virtue" from the ITK, but I have a feeling we'll end up disappointed again.

I do hope that Adebayor is great for us, but he has a pretty inflated reputation. He has had one good season which was years ago for Arsenal, and he has never had a goal every other game stats for any club he has ever played for. I think if we see the adebayor of arsenal then great, but any other adebayor shows up and he could fracture the dressing room even more.

My opinion is that Adebayor will have a greater impact on the team than VdV did last season. Pretty much the only positive from this window so far, to be honest.

I have such low expectations of Spurs performance in the transfer window that I'd be extremely happy if we managed to get Parker in .

Would like to see some of the dead would set free too .

Yep. Another season of improvised bullshit, I reckon.

I think Liverpool have gone past us by some distance if they keep the majority fit for the season. Suarez and Carroll take them above us alone though, two goalscorers who also work hard up top and do more than just a goalscoring job.

If we sign a striker, I can't see it happening, but if we do, and Arsenal fail to sign anyone of any substance, I can see us finishing above them as they look woeful, but even then that's a big if.

It really pisses me off that the transfer window has been open so long and we seem to have struggled to do much in this time.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Modric off to Chelsea around 10pm tomorrow either.

I agree, Liverpool have left us behind. Arsenal will get a couple of signings we can only dream about and we will finish 6th.

Its a shame we didnt even try to compete.

It's looking that way at the moment but younever know there is still over 24 hours to go. Lets just hope and pray a miracle happens.

We have 7 or 8 first team players who know they aren't wanted by the club. Our 'best' player is desperate to leave.

This isn't the foundation for a good team spirit. Maybe when the transfer window closes, everyone will get their heads down. But it does seem like we're in the middle of a transitional stage without having made any transitions.

I think if all we manage is Scott Parker before the window closes we will be looking at top 6 finishes at best for the next five years. As it will take us that long to recover from losing the really stand-out players that we currently have.

If we don't turn things around on the pitch soon we may as well start rebuilding now.
