Then do you want Harry in charge next year if he doesn't go to England?

Seen a lot of over dramatic threads about him so thought i'd create a more level headed one asking what i feel is a question we should seriously consider.

Personally, I would like him to stay on if the FA decide on somebody else. Sacking him would be a step in the wrong direction.

Even if we did qualify and he wasn't offered the England job I would still want rid.

Really tough one to anwser if we do qualify and England don't want him. To the outsider looking in, e.g. media/rival managers/rival fans, how can you sack a manager who has delivered CL footy for 2 out of the 3 full seasons he has been in charge aswell as a domestic cup final and 2 other semi final appearances? Truth is those stats don't really tell you the whole story as we fans all know too well.... I am far from Redknapps biggest fan but it will be impossible to sack him if he did deliver CL footy again....

If we missed out and England don't want him then I 100% want him gone but truth be told Levy still won't get rid and will give him another chance....

I judge on results. On that basis, he must be given the chance to progress

Yes, let him go. Whilst the squads are different and the premier league landscape is different, watching us and in particular Harry over recent weeks has reminded me of the last days of Jol, who had done a good job but it was time for him to hit the high road. I feel Harry's time is up, regardless of the last 6/7 games of the season. I hope ryantegan is right and they are waiting to announce at the end of the season the England job so we get money for him rather than having to pay to remove him.

A good job HArry, CL 10/11 was t'riffic, but time's time. We will go backwards, not forwards IMO if we have him in charge next season

I know it seems easy to say get himout after recent results and I too am fuming BUT for me if possible we should definitely keep Redknapp. I know the last few weeks have been shit but come on look what he has done since he's been here...... if you would have said when he joined we would be in this position in 3 years time having already reached the quarter finals of the champions before I would have snapped your hand off.

For me the guy is a hero

I Imagine that's Harry's dream Scenario, England overlook him then we bin him off...

He would only have himself to blame though with the silence followed by the veiled come and get me pleas over the England job.

Shouldn't the 'No best manager since Nicholson' read 'No best manager since Burkinshaw?'

If we miss out on the top four then yes (assuming we can get one of our top choices) we should. That was our goal at the start of the season and he would have played his part in us not achieving it for the second season running. The only thing that could muddy the water is if we finish outside the top 4 but win the FA Cup. Would be difficult to sack him then.

Problem though, he clearly doesn't progress. He clearly hasn't learnt from the mistakes from last season. Like not running players in to the ground, learning to rotate the team effectiv................ I just can't be bothered to write it all out again.

The guy has done well for us, but he just needs to pack his bags and coaching staff and go.

Sorry TGL i've said it elsewhere but i'll say it again, this running them into the ground stuff doesn't sit right with me. We've played an average of 5 games a month, which is pretty much nothing really, if they can't manage that then there's something wrong with them. IMO its just a fashionable stick to beat him with and there's plenty of other gripes about Harry right now that carry more weight. ;)

If we don't qualify for th CL then Modric, Bale and vdV will be off and we'll need a manager like Rodgers, Lambert, Hughton or Pardew (anyone, I don't care so long as they never try to play 4-4-2 again) to rebuild us from mid-table.

I vote YES - failure to gain CL football after the position we were in, without CL football, is shameful.
I accepted our implosion last season, purely on that basis - this season, we have a better, older, more experienced team, and no CL football. And more than that, we got ourselves into a position where it was hard to see us not finishing 3rd and almost inconceivible that we wouldn't finish 4th. Now we are in a bare-knuckle brawl and losing games pitifully that we should never lose (unless we wish to remain the same mid-table bullying victims who lose at home to newly promoted teams year after bluddy year - sometimes even being the first team two-thrids of the way through the season to give them a bluddy away win). The buck stops with the manager, just as it did when we were getting the plaudits.

Depends who is about. I wouldn't want to sack him to bring in Rodgers, Lambert, Moyes or god forbid, the shower that is Pardew.

If we can genuinely upgrade then yes, we should look at doing that for certain.

It would be hard to see how he would command any respect having presided over two disastrous ends of season the past two campaigns. While, he did get us to the CL once....getting a team that is constantly 5th into 4th one time, does not give him enough political capital to deserve the job.

Plus we will potentially lose Modric and Bale, we have a number of players coming to the end of their days, and our forwards aren't great. So we might need a massive rebuild. Do we want a man with a one year contract to rebuild us? At best, he would patch us up for another year and probably do worse than these past two years, leading us to have to rebuild in a year's time anyway.
