If we had to sell one in the summer who would it be? Rose or Dier

Seems like these are the 2 first teamers most likely to go, who would you rather sell(If we had to)?

Joke mate. My point is that, in all likelihood, whomever we bring in will be some head-scratchingly mediocre player, likely from France (Stambouli, N'Jie, GKN, etc.) who, through no fault of his own, will not address our need(s)

Rose is the one I'd least want to leave but it's also fairly certain he'll be off at some point anyway so if I pick Dier, then Rose leaves anyway, we've lost both. So on that basis, probably Rose cos he's off anyway.

If you want to know who we'll replace Rose with should he leave, Google "mediocre French Right back" (yes I said RIGHT back) and there'll be your guy.

Is that you Danny? I thought the gaffer had spoken to you about that kind of talk

Should've done the "If you were being held at gunpoint" because, ideally, neither.

Logic says Rose, as detailed above because of age, injuries, etc, but i'd say Dier because i'm getting pretty fed up of making new avatars every year because we keep selling off whoever I have.

Neither. Because if all these rich basta*rd clubs can't be arsed to scout and school their own, why the fu*k should we be strengthening them with the finished article.

FECK OFF !!!!!!!.

True. All our transfers last summer we’re second rate ligue 1 players. Sanchez from Ajax, Llorente from Swansea and Aurier from PSG (okay he is ligue 1 but is clearly very good).

As for the question, would rather sell neither but can’t help feeling we’ve seen the best of Rose in a Spurs kit, so gun to head I would sell him if there was a strong available replacement.

Llorente from Swansea? That’s a marquee signing?

Also, yeah- Aurier was a decent pickup but still a major step down from Walker.

Sánchez I’ll grant you.

Still, my post was a joke, more about Spurs/Levy as a whole rather than last season specifically. And on the whole there have been a lot more Chimbondas, Stamboulis and Sissokos than there have been Sanchez’s.

We didn’t sign Sissoko from France, it’s well documented that Pochettino drove that signing, and he was a highly capped current French international who’d just started in the European Championship final for them. I agree he’s not very good, but hardly a stab in the dark.

Chimbonda was over a decade ago and had actually just been named in the French team of the year playing for that little known French province Wigan. Also just received a call up to their squad. Additionally, he actually did quite well for us and was an upgrade on Stalteri.

Stambouli kind of makes your point, but it hardly tips the balance does it?

As for Llorente, not sure you can do much better than sign someone who scored 15 goals in your league last season, has played at the top level for club and country as outright back up for your world class starter striker.

Not a fan of these kind of threads but I'd reluctantly say it would be easier to replace Rose than it would be Dier.

Cash in on Dier now. I have no idea what he is. 4th choice CB. As a CM he offers very little lumbers around slows everything down. Wanyama was more busy in 10 mins than Dier the whole match. If we can get £50m+ take it otherwise keep as a squad player. But shouldn’t be near 1st xi when wanyama and CB are fit.

Actually agree with this. It’s not that he’s terrible or anything, but he’s not a lot more than a utility player imo. If he wasn’t so versatile I’m not sure people would be so keen on him. Is he better than Wanyama? No. Is he better than our defenders, No.

A lot of people on here seem to idolise him, I just can’t see why.
