If AVB is serious about winning this tournament he needs to play a full strength team. No sympathy appearances for Friedal, Gallas and Livermore.

With Lloris in goal that would never have been so stressful.

For me the only players who came out with any credit tonight were Verts, Dembele and Siggy. The rest made too many mistakes, IMHO. I agree that the tactics were wrong, but the leaders, Gallas, Parker etc should have worked it out and at the very least told AVB it wasn't working.

Big failure all around. But then again we won and, provided AVB learns the lessson, no harm done!

COYS! :)

Reminds me of Young Boys a few years back - that gave the squad a wake up and i hope this does too. Bale back for sunday and got to get back to winning ways!

To be fair, Inter are better than we thought. We went there looking to get an early goal and we started well but didn't score. We did well not to implode straight away after letting in the first goal and we passed it well but once the second went in it was always going to be nervy. They did well to start off extra time with a higher tempo and we got a goal after big Jan and gallas missed open headers.

I'm not going to say anymore about the ref but I'm so glad that we are through despite him. I'm just glad my heart rate has started to slow down and the relief and excitement is setting in because we're in the quarters! :woot:

Worst game? How long have you followed us mate?

OK not as bad as the coventry final in terms of a result but going to Inter with a 3-0 lead that should have been at least 5 and sit through 90 minutes of the inevitable slow creep into failure was awful imo

Huh, looks like all the Europa League English sides are through. In your face Champions League failures!
