Is Redknapp Tactically good Enough!

We don't know that Harry hasn't.

I love Lennon to bits. I was one of the few who still stood by him when most were heralding Bentley the saviour, or even wanting us to sign that cheat Kader Keita to replace him in some cases. However, and this is something that has been apparent through his entire time with us, when he's on form he is sublime, perhaps the best winger in the league. He combines pace, skill and vision, and there's not a fullback around who can stop him. Unfortunately, when he gets injured, he takes ages to get the confidence back to do what he does best. I reckon one could trace every poor patch he's had to coming back from an injury. And unfortunately, a Lennon who lacks the confidence to take people on is a severely reduced Lennon, and not one who merits a starting spot.

The problem, and I think most can see this, is in his head. We know he can skin West Hams full back all day long, we've seen him demolish Clichy, Cole and Evra without breaking a sweat. But right now he needs to climb over this wall he's found in front of him, and I don't think it's reasonable to have to sign an overrated £16m Blackburn midfielder every time we need to get Lennon back to his best.

I'll tell you what, one of Glenns witch doctors would come in handy right about now.

Mate :violin::violin::violin::violin: Jesus stop it,

Fact - he's playing like a cu*t
Fact - He earns in 1 month what most earn in a year
Fact - we expect better we deserve better

I love the lil fooker but right now he is not making the runs or taking people on and one of the 90 coaches we have and HR need to address it asap!! letting him cure himself aint management!

This is my whole issue with HR, he should spend less time talking to the press telling everyone how great every team is that we play against and spend more time telling lennon how great he can be!!!

Why have Wilshire, Chamakh, Vermaelen all slotted in so easily? Because they have settled in to familiarity.

The following players are all regulars, and this is when they debuted for Art:

Eboue 2004
Sagna 2007
Clichy 2003
Diaby 2005
Fabregas 2004
Song 2005
Van Persie 2004
Walcott 2006
Alumunia 2005

Wilshire may only be a recent debutant, but he has come through their youth system, learning from these players and having Wengers philosophy injected into him since childhood. After over a decade at the helm, Wenger has brought through a young domestic player who can genuinely expect to appear regularly for the very first time. It takes time. We also have players who are familiar with eachother (Lennon, Keane, Defoe, King, Huddlestone, Ekotto, even Bale at a stretch), but unlike at Arsenal, they have had 3 different managers at least, with Defoe having had 5, Keane having had 6, and King having had 7. There's not much continuity there.
Don't really disagree with anything you've said.

Whether you like HR or not, the one thing spurs have not had is continuity. We desperately need to maintain this, regardless of results in the short-term.

Shame, KKemal got himself banned.

I'm assuming for censor evasion, rather than talking out of his arse.

Thanks to MattyP, BBLG and the likes for rescuing this thread. Adiepf.....fuck me you have talked a lot of bollocks in this thread, although nowhere on the level of the OP who luckily got banned, although probably only for a bit, no doubt he'll be back in this thread.

I'll support Redknapp when he does well, and **** him off when he doesn't. He did NOT do well in the Arse match, but not really sure what else he could have done against the Spammers. Unfortunately people appear to play too many Football Management sims to understand that when the players go on to the pitch, you have to trust them to do what they are paid to do. Just because you set up in a particular way does not mean players are joined by a bit of string or in a Foosball type set up, the players have to think for themselves as well. As a manager you can also not legislate for Hudd missing an open goal, or for Green to have put his gloves on the right way round for the first game in his life.

But, we need to do away with this 451 until we get Defoe back to fitness. It's not going to work away from home in the Prem when your only choices are Crouch and Keane, and I wouldn't play it at home either.

How the fucking hell do you know what does and does not go on during a training session. And if you seriously have the opinion that Harry does not give Lennon(or any other Tottenham players individual tatical/coaching instructions) then imo i would have to say you are incorrect.

Before his injury Lennon was flying and one of/if not our top assists. He seemed to have a major dip playing in the world cup(Capello must be like Harry too?) You can coach/instruct a player all you want day to day but Lennon himself needs to overcome any issues he may have and if his mind isn't right, there isn't much Harry can do about that and nor can he make decisions for players during a game.

I suppose Alex Fergusson is tactically useless aswell is he, cos Wayne Rooney is probably half the player he was compared to last season, Fernando Torres another badly out of sorts player.

The funny thing is, kkemal could have just typed out the offending word as normal, it would have looked like this: ****, and we'd have all known what he meant. What a cheap way to get banned.

I wonder how long before we hear 'you gotta trust ol' KK' :-D?

Following a Champions League finish and then entry into the Champions League proper, does anyone really need to question those tactics?

The thread creator is a twat.

That actually made me 'lol'.....

 have some rep....

sometimes i really hate this site...

people are persecuted for opinions...its ridiculous it really is...

he isnt on his own, i agree with the fella & loads more do as well.....we are playing terribly & there is no sign of improvement....weve signed a world class player in VDV & yet we are about as creative as west brom (less judging by our game against them & theres against arsenal)...so there IS a problem...

the buck has to stop somewhere & im afraid the manager is responsible for getting the best out of his staff in every job on the planet...

my opinion is this....is harry tactically naive?-yes!....if we finish lower than 4th & without a trophy should he be replaced?-yes

the end of the season will tell all & i hope (cos i love the club & it comes first) that we are in that top 4 or have an FA cup under our belts.....but if not then we are big enough to get someone else who can...

for those who think H can do no wrong...WAKE UP!!...he is just as capable of doing wrong as he is good like any manager....its when the bad outways the good we have to start worrying...i think its going that way...i hope im wrong..

to everyone who persecuted kkmel....have a balanced argument for gods sake....H is god, H is god, H is god...just isnt good enough!

Officially one of the worst threads, filled with many of the worst posts, I've ever read on SC.

All my pet hates in one thread:

- an OP who quite literally hasn't got a single clue about the game
- random unsubstantiated Levy-bashing (complete with bonus lies about taking all the money for himself, and extra large blinkers in order to ignore the rant-refuting facts written in reply)

- calling players ****s because they happen to be off form for a bit

- justifying said abuse by saying 'well he earns more than me innit'

- claiming love for a player you then spend half your time in the Park Lane screaming 'cccccccaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnttttttttt!' at every time they touch the ball if they haven't scored yet. Unless it's Pav, who's Super Pav, the Rarely Cant

- an OP assuming he knows more about the game than a manager who's been in it at every level for 40 years

- a couple of m****** d**s latching on a shouting the same nonsense, then loudly claiming that all the non-mentals 'will just ignore you 'cos they don't want to hear it', whilst ignoring all the legible and well-written counter-points laid out by said non-mentals

- the old 'I've been going to Spurs for three thousand years mate' classic

- internet shouting through liberal use of unecessary punctuation.

I'm off for a lie down, this thread has made me very tired and sad.

Ok then, so we finish 5th on the last day of the season, and lose in the Champions League final on penalties. Harry out.

We pay £18m a year to Hiddink because he is apparently one of those tactical geniuses, and he finishes 7th in his first season. Take it he is out on his arse as well then?? No? Why?

Oh, and you need to wind your neck in mate, nobody is saying that at all (the bit in bold), people just realise this isn't a computer console.
