I can’t understand why we wouldn’t be looking at him. Home grown, goal scorer better than Richy etc.
If we did sign him, I could see it going about as well as when we signed Darren Bent, who had a similar CV in terms of being prolific in a Championship promotion campaign then having a couple of decent seasons in the PL for that newly promoted side. A lot of CFs need to be the focal point of the team to succeed and struggle to perform at their best when they find themselves as a back-up or playing off / alongside another CF. Toney may go on to prove me wrong, but I think he's more in his element at a bottom-half / mid-table club than at a big club.
In addition to having to play back-up to Son, it would be a very different type of pressure than he's experienced so far in his career.

Darren who? 😜🤣😂🤣

Also, let’s not forget Ange’s position of team chemistry

He has been very public in his view with regards to character. Toney is a good player. But with the unfortunate gambling ban and his reintroduction into the PL, will be a distraction. And yes, he really does come across as a doucherider.

"He comes across as a tool" is an incredibly subjective and nuanced, generally based upon our own perceptions and bias. I'd hope that our scouting would be somewhat more objective than that.

If Ange thinks he can add value then I'd be all for it, but not overly fussed either way.

I think if we did sign Toney , sonny would go to LWF and Richy would be sold .
Nah, I'd like to see Brennan given a chance and hopefully Richarlison can pick up form as well.

I don't want to see Son back at left wing, the best season he had was playing LW when we were defending, but more as a central striker when attacking with Kane.

He is a CF now. I think he'll hit 20-25 goals this season.

For me Richarlison is more of a CF as well, if he can be more deadly in front of goal. If not then Veliz.

If we have 50m to put down on a player I'd prefer us buy a proper winger like we tried with Diaz, for me Chiesa would be my choice.

I'm not so sure because there's quite a bit of evidence to support the idea that he's "a tool", his recent interview for one and his "fuck Brentford" comment when trying to get his end away.

Going by recent reports about Ange wanting to speak to every potential signing and that he needs to get the right 'feel' from them, I don't think we need to worry about Toney rocking up at the Lodge any time in the future.

On top of that, I'm not so sure he'd suit our style and have a feeling that he looked good at Brentford because they played to his strengths.
I may be wrong and it certainly wouldn't be the first time but, I'm just not sure he's what we want/need in both personality and profile.

Mbuemo seems to be scoring a lot of goals in this Brentford team in his absence, they havnt missed him, and don’t look any worse

Agree with every word of this. The calls for a striker are baffling. Son is our main striker now with Richarlison/Veliz as backup, Johnson at a push.

It is not a priority area unlike CB.

They can fuck right off if they think we'll pay £100m for him. Not worth anywhere near that. Don't want him anyway.
