What's new

I've never disliked a Spurs squad more than this one

the turnaround has been amazing and it's made me realise that above all else, it's about who's playing for spurs that matters to me most. this group is so easy to support, they're young, impressionable and give their all.

But in the time with us he hasn't played in the advanced role, he's always been one of the sitters aside from a few experiments out wide.
He hasn't always been a sitter many times he has played with a DM in midfield, so he's meant to be the one that gets forward in that situation. His position there has actually been taken over by Mason.

I think this post is pretty obvious @large ?

Do I need to type it in larger letters perhaps to make it clearer?

Well put.

They are Spurs players, not just players who play for Spurs.

That counts.

Not too early at all, he has been with us for nearly 3 years, he went to the world cup, he's not some kind of naive youth player, he's 28 this year. I am simply saying he needs to show the will and desire to improve himself and become a top player

you're not the only one on here who continues to dig Dembele out even when he's made an excellent contribution to our recent upturn in form. It's a squad game and we need a bit of everything, including his strengths. His weaknesses are clear, there's no need to continue to bang on about them since they're having a negligible impact on our play at present. The weak links in the squad have been sidelined by Poch and their replacements have made all the difference. Go for a walk, a pint or a wank.

Pleaty had an idea about Dembele during commentary yesterday; specifically, give him bonuses based on how many shots he has. As someone remarked, if he could add goals we'd have a player on our hands.

All so different in such a small space of time. Now the current team is full of young players, many of whom are English and/or from the academy. Looking forward to watching the team grow and it goes to show how much difference desire and giving a shit makes.

I felt the same earlier this season.

90% of the squad seemed either disinterested or unable to carry out what Poch was trying to do and I don't think it was wrong for people to express their unhappiness at that.

Even the likes of Eriksen, Vertonghen and Chadli were looking poor/lazy and that was confounded by the terrible efforts of Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho etc.

I never blamed Poch and blamed the players, and it seems as if Poch and co have started to get their message through to a previously unresponsive bunch.

Poch seems to have locked in to the younger players and pulled the optimism and drive from there, and the only regret is that Poch tried to base it on Adebayor and Kaboul and co in the first place.

The entire squad is laced with players who don't seem interested, players who don't care and players who simply aren't good enough.
Take today. Naughton , Rose and Kaboul aren't good enough. Vertonghen head up his arse. Capoue strolling about not a care in the world. Eriksen non existent. Lamela his usual league self. Adebayor and Soldado offering virtually nothing. Not even mentioning Chiriches, Paulinho, Dembele.
Joke what's going on with this squad. No balls, no bite.

I'll continue to support the club but I don't give two ducks about too many of the current crop of players.

Dier, Mason, Kane. If they all played with their hunger and aggression we'd do alright.
Since someone disliked this today I may as well update it.
no coincidence that 3 mentioned in last paragraph played in a game where we showed our best colours as a team. Brilliant attitude and performance from them. Vertonghen is back to his best, Walker solved rb issues. Eriksen playing out of his skin. And Poch firmly making his mark. Those performances and the quality of our homegrown boys has helped bring back the love.

I posted earlier in the thread, you were completely right in your post at the time. Anyone negging your original post now isn't accounting for the influx in home grown and any change in attitude poch is getting out of the rest of the squad.
