Taking off my spurs tinted glasses, I can actually understand why they'd be stubborn and refuse to sell him at any price. Even if the new owners are not "football men" and don't understand FFP, there's no way Villa could replace Grealish for a player of similar quality. Keeping him massively increases their chances of promotion, the earnings from which would (I imagine) more than make up for any fines, while also endearing the fans to the new owners in the process.
Sucks for Jack in the short term but he's a fan and will no doubt knuckle down and fight for the team after the initial disappointment dies down.
LMAO....You fucking crack me up.Sherwood says he expects this to happen.
Our last glimmer of hope - the words of Tim Sherwood.
Mary mother of god.
I hope the fuckers finish 17th.
It's clearly been absolutely dead since the new owners rejected our £25million offer. It's over guys
When you are told “we will accept £25M” and then offer £25M and they say “sorry never mind,” you move on.
The thing is, had we done it weeks ago, we'd of brought him in and he would had some of his pre season here.
I'm not convinced Grealish was ever first choice, hence the delay to see if a preferred option was obtainable.

Couldn't move out Sissoko either. As soon as we couldn't move these guys Levy went back in his shell. We need more than one midfielder though, especially since we're trying to offload Dembele, so I don't get why we'd wait if we could have gotten him earlier.
Agree. If we're to believe that the £32 million 'release clause' is real, then Imo we should proceed. HG and English talent. Win-win for Levy

But Levy clearly wanted to wait to low ball them now, shaving some off the price tag.
Of course, that's the way he rolls, but this is the risk you take playing that game.
We were prepared to pay 25 million, a fair price, but wanted to apply the pressure with hours remaining hoping they'd take less.
New owners in, situation changes and that's that.
