Wot ? no alcohol ?
You gonna ask me if I've never taken paracetamol next?
Wot ? no alcohol ?
You gonna ask me if I've never taken paracetamol next?
Why not. It's a drug isn't it?
What about cigs, Coffee, tea? It's all the same. All gets you high, just to varying degrees.
Alcohol is the worst though, for sure, in terms of addictiveness, how fucked it gets you, the affect on your body and how you feel after you've taken it.
I think it's great.
Why feel the need to be so bloody pedantic? Of course I was talking about illegal drugs and most people here knew that's what I meant.
And before you say it, no I don't therefore take those legal high bollocks.
lol people live in the real world.
Footballers don't live in the real world.
They live in a world where they are paid an absolute fortune for a job where they don't have to work much harder (if at all) than the people who pay to watch them every week.
All they are asked to do for that massive reward is to avoid things like drugs and alcohol and to keep themselves healthy. If a player can't do that then they don't deserve to earn the rewards that someone like Livermore has been able to earn up until now.
I think he should receive whatever the maximum ban is for taking illegal 'recreational' drugs and he'll have to live with that. He's got enough time left in his career that a lengthy ban won't end his playing days...but it's right that he should have some of his massive privileges taken away in the mean time.
I don't disagree per se, but you can't blame him for earning what he does, or any footballer for that mattter. That's our fault (fans)
It's kinda like people blaming Lamela for costing £30m. That's not his fault either. it just seems that money gets used as a stick to beat a lot of players with when it ain't got nothing to do with them
Capitalism bruv. You got to love it.
Of course, because legal drugs are good but illegal ones are bad. People who drink alcohol are good but we like to demonise people who take drugs that we deem immoral, for some fucked up reason.
It's all a load of bollocks. Look at this thread, loads of people getting all Mr Makey without knowing anything about the situation.
But yeah, Jake is an evil, immoral human being who deserves to have his life ruined for doing a substance a shit load of people do anyway.
I may seem pedantic to you but I just see a load of hypocritical bullshit.

No-one is saying that.
We're saying that he's a TWAT for evidently taking it 24 hours before a game.
I don't really care what footballer's get up to or put into their bodies if it doesn't affect their performance out on the pitch, but if you're in an industry where you know there's the chance that you'll be tested, you're nothing short of a moron for failing a test.
In every response, money is always the first thing mentioned? Sounds like jealousy.
Of course it's partly jealousy. These guys get paid more per week than most of us get paid per year to do something they love doing and are talented at. And all they have to do to get that massive benefit is not dick about with things like drugs.
It's like when Prince Harry gets caught doing something stupid. Yes it's the sort of thing that lots of people do, but when you are paid so much and reap so much reward from your position, you can't expect to be treated the same as everyone else.
It's not as if he didn't know what the outcome would be. He's just an incredibly lucky guy who looks like he's pissed that up the wall for the sake of taking a few drugs.
I don't see how anyone can have sympathy for him really.

See where you are coming from. But I wouldn't confuse Prince Harry with a footballer. One is genuinely talented at their profession and devoted their life to it. The other is a pampered benefit scrounger.
Jake is a working class boy done good using his natural talents. He gets paid that much because people want to watch him play.
Harry is just a privileged toff who was born into a position of power with no discernable talent or use.
Okay so to use another example, I have used my natural talents, what there is of them, to become a solicitor.
I get paid a decent amount of money for that and realise that I am lucky in that regard. But if I was to break any law, no matter how small or seemingly insignificant, there would be a good chance that I would be struck off and couldn't actually practice law in this country again. Even if it was something like downloading music illegally or travelling an extra stop on the train over the ticket price.
Whereas others would get more of a second chance in those situations, I wouldn't, and if I did get caught doing something then I wouldn't whinge that 'others are able to get away with it' because I realise the benefits I get by being a lawyer in the first place.
In a situation where he probably gets paid more in a week than I do in a year, he needs to realise the same thing.
TSH, I would add that if The Snake is earning more in a week than you, as a solicitor, do in a year, then you need to get some more clients. I could float a few your way.
I thought all you guys were minted.
