Do you think he could be our fourth/ fifth centre back and converted into that? Does it suit him. I only remember stupid fouls.
He played there some time for our academy.

Interesting that, if we're to believe reports, AVB sees something in him where as he didn't in Caulks

From the report, it looks like he played centre half against MK Dons the other night.

In theory it's not a bad idea but putting it into practice is a lot more difficult. The only possible way it might work is if he's loaned as a centre half but can't see any PL sides wanting to be 'used' for this type of experiment. And there's no point going to a Championship side as we wouldn't learn anything.

That said, nothing to stop him being emergency cover, as Carrick has done at Utd & Hudd very occasionally for us.
Stick him up against Falcao on Saturday,let's see what you're made of Jakey boy!

Carroll is decent he's the footballer that Huddlestone thinks he is, Caulker was cumbersome and Livermore is dogshit.

I think it's best for the lad if like Caulker he's given the opportunity to further his career elsewhere because he won't get the necessary game time at Spurs. Competing with an aging Parker, Carroll and Huddlestone for a CM position is one thing but this season we will have Sandro back and of course we have signed Paulinho. I think with all the new TV money floating around we can get a Caulker like fee for him as well.

How do you feel?

I feel more loyalty towards players produced by the clubs academy. Given the opportunity to play regularly as opposed to developing players from other countries I feel they could do well. Also feel some fans are too quick to write them off because te prem has built a culture of low patience, especially for their own home grown players. Caulker is already a full England international and already a better CB at 21/22 than Kaboul was. Now Kaboul is one of the best in the league.

If this stuff about Livermore playing at CB is true, then it's probably AVB trying to develop a utility player who is unlikely to leave, happy to sit on the bench most of the time and fairly flexible with the position he plays.

Caulker went because of the money and to develop his career, which is fair enough. If AVB wants a slimmed down squad, then he needs some flexibility and there are always going to be players who have to be happy not doing much.. and are English which is a bonus.

Decent point! If Livermore is prepared to sty and be a role player then fair enough! Maybe why Hudd has a future at the club?
