I seem to remember that during the Bale summer there was itk saying that we'd agreed a fee with Wigan for him but for whatever reason the transfer didn't go through. Anyway, looks like we might be back in for him, although I believe he's currently out injured. Would be a good signing in my view nevertheless.

The article does say he's in contract negotiations though so this is probably just his agent trying to get Everton to sign him up on a new deal.

It looks as if Swansea now are entering in to a "partnership" with Real M.

I should have been a sports writer for a red top. I'm very good at making things up.

He's a very good player, but I'd see him in a similar position to Mason/Bentaleb so it depends on how confident we are that they'll continue to impress.

His passing is brilliant and he's one of those players that just his job very well, albeit without you noticing.

Take him NOW.He is a solid player-very rarely makes mistakes.

Mccarthy than Delph IMO

A very Poch kind of player.Box to box, intelligent, high pressing, pass equally good in left & right foot, short & long pass. IMO, all the potential to be complete MF

I don't see much between him and Schneiderlin - they are very similar.

Sadly McCarthy will be no closer to our price range either

On the basis of this, i'd have to say get him in and cut our loses on Paulinho.

Earlier in the season wasn't there a strange argument between Everton and the Republic of Ireland over him. He hasn't played much since then. Maybe he's unhappy.

Would absolutely love for us to bring this guy in. I do think Everton may sell someone this January to make funds for some needed acquisitions in attempt to turn their season around, but I think it would be Coleman to Man U first as they won't deem Man U rivals, and of course would receive incredible money for him.

He's a very good alternative to Schneiderlin, and available for circa £20m? That would be around £7m less than what Southampton want for Morgan.

Really good player and can definitely see Pochettino improving him further.

Would be more than happy with this.

Good player, but £20million is a lot of money for McCarthy, he is not a £20m player.

Depends how desperate we are in the middle i guess?

Two minds about this. I rate him as a tidy player but him and Aiden McGeady just totally irk the hell out of me for turning their backs on Scotland
