If Madrid sign him, Any chance we could get him on loan or maybe Isco?
Would never happen wuth rodriguez. Maybe I suppose with Isco because he should leave there in general. Cant see him getting a look in. But isnt he a 10? We already have Eriksen there so im not sure if Isco is right for us...

I cant believe that we have managed to get Rodriguez...

Rodriguez said "There is no way I could turn down the offer from Spurs as Gerry Francis is my hero"

I don't see how Bale, Ronaldo and Rodriguez can fit in the same team.

Why not? 4-2-3-1 with Ronaldo left, bale right, Rodriguez in the middle with Falcao up front. I don't see why they would want both Kroos and Rodriguez though unless they're happy with a midfield of Modric and Kroos.

I meant it more in terms of how all three players want to be the man taking free kicks, pens, scoring goals etc.

Who is also out of our league ...

Well certain quality players are out of our league but some with ambition are not it really is a matter of supply and demand. Isco thought moving to Real would fulfil his ambitions. He was a young player earmarked for the WC but never mate the cut, he was supposedly going to be a big part of the Real Madrid success but his starting games has reduced and will no doubt reduce further if Rodriguez arrives
So if he's struggling to get the playing time he wants where will he go? Only Real and Barca can afford him in Spain and Barca don't need him. Realistically only Bayern in the BL and they don't, Chavs surely can't want anymore players for that role, City he'd just move to another club with similar competition. PSG and Monaco have the money but not the quality of league and PSG have no need and other targets. Maybe a couple of Russian clubs could afford him but again a weak league. Italian clubs no longer have the kind of buying power they once did.Maybe one or two clubs there maybe a couple in the PL including us
I actually don't think he'd be out of our league at all there's simply not that many clubs in a position to buy him, match his wages and give him a decent chance of playing regularly on a decent enough stage

Liverpool, arsenal, napoli, juve, United, dortmund, all probably have a better chance than us too. Tbh, even if he was available I'd be surprised if we signed him. I know he can play LW but he's predominantly a CAM and that's not what we need

Well I don't think scum would be looking, I imagine they have other priorities, Dortmund don't seem that keen to spend big money, likewise Napoli and Juve don't seem too keen on spending that kind of fee on players these days.
However I'm not suggesting that we are the only option, but simply that there are not too many clubs prepared to spend the money needed, have the need for a player in that role and having the kind of standard an ambitious player would be looking for, thus making us a reasonable choice and thus in with a chance
As for what we need, I think he'd be an excellent option, I don't think we need an out and out left winger but a sharp, creative, intelligent player capable of both scoring and carving chances who can interchange with the other attacking players.

Like the thought of Isco Eriksen Lamela. Just really don't see it happenin. Still I'm very pessimistic and I like your optimism.

Yeah it does look good doesn't it and I would imagine if it were possible it would significantly improve our ability to both keep possession and create chances in the final third
Yeah I like to be a bit optimistic, but I'm very happy with both Eriksen and Lamela already and I was extremely happy we added them last season
Although Lamela had a difficult season last year I really feel he'll shine this season and Eriksen is one of those players who is going to get better. It's an exciting two players to have behind a main striker and if we can get a third of equal quality it would make it a fantastic attacking line up

If James does go 2 Madrid then I suppose it would make sense for Isco and Madrid if he did go out on loan. People mock the partnership and whilst I think it is stupid there has to be more than they get to steal our best players, no-one would be stupid enough to sign that especially Levy! Surely we get 1st refusal at least? At 1st I thought the Isco idea was unrealistic and it might be the case but now I really want it to happen and I'm grasping at straws for whilst it's possible!

Where does the natural width come from in that system? We'd need some quality attacking full backs which we just don't have, unless pochettino can do some real magic coaching.

Isco is a quality player though and I'd love us to get him.

Hardly any teams have much width anymore. It's all about inverted wingers: Ronaldo+Bale, Robben+Ribery, Silva+Nasri just to name a few. Plus Walker is a very attacking full back. Admittedly Davies isn't but it doesn't mean he'll never attack. That's hoping we get Davies although Rose is attacking! (not saying I want Rose!) Also, one of the most successful attacking trios was Chelsea's "3 amigos" (Hazard, Oscar, Mata), this seriously lacks width. I get your point but if needs be we can rotate with Townsend and Lennon if width and pace is required

To be frank, Isco wouldn't piss on us if we were on fire.

The problem is both Rose and Walker have no end product when going forward.

Fair point. Rose's delivery is awful whilst Walker's is better it's still not good enough. Ok then, I suppose I'll have to replace Isco for Griezmann ;)
