Was he not available for something like £18m earlier in the summer but Mr Brinkmanship was giving them his best poker face? Anyway, the point I'm making is that it can feel like we miss out on some players not once, but twice. Once when they opt for a rival, and twice when it doesn't work out for them but that rival won't sell to us. Oh, and once they've tasted ridiculous wages at that rival, they won't go anywhere that pays less, even if they have to play for a shitty team as a result.

Apparently it was always Tevez's dream to play for his boyhood club, Shanghai Shenhua, the team he's supported since he was a small boy. Nothing to do with the money, obviously.

I don't get all the hate some players get when chasing big wages in China. 600k a week at 32 years old? Fucking fair play to him imo.

Yep, definitely. Oscar is a bit different but it's an exciting time.. they are bringing in limits on foreign players and investing in youth, but for now they need big names to draw crowds (which are relatively low).
