Talks a lot of sense, like he always played with a lot of sense.

I too am optimistic we can get a result against City.

Wonder if Poch is willing to start Nkoudou. Like Lennon before him, Nkoudou has pace to burn, and I reckon he has the beating of Sagna, Zabaleta, Kolarov or Clichy. He and Son can get behind the City defence and cause havoc.

I wish I shared his optimism. On our day we can beat anyone but IMO we haven't hit any sort of reliable form yet. On the other hand City have been a bit of a mixed bag but have played some fantastic stuff already this season. COYS.

Thought we'd get beat last season, especially after going 1-0 down. Then we beat them good and proper home and away last season. Why are we shaking in our boots?

Considering some of the stick JJ sometimes got from fans is a little surprising how much he loves the club. Always thought he was a good player and thought he had more potential and ability to take the next step up from being a 7/10 all rounder.

Seems like a very likeable guy as a pundit with some decent insight

I think it comes with the territory of being a Spurs fan :)

I get what you mean though...we as fans should be more confident, this is a new Spurs and the manager is instilling a winning mentality through to the players. We win, lose or draw together - I was watching the video of the celebrations at the Etihad from last season, and there's a togetherness and pride that hasn't been there for years, maybe even for as long as I can remember as a Spurs supporter.

Saying that, I will be biting the f*<k out of my nails on Sunday afternoon

Up the Spurs!

Agree. Some far less dedicated and talented players have received far more love than him.
He played for us at a time we were going from utter shitb to where we were now.
I could see a young Jenas fitting in well under pochettino.

Winning without playing all that well had been the hallmark of Fergie's United for years, so why are we concerned when doing exactly the same? Besides in terms of possession and passing, the stats show we are tops. Just that we aren't as clinical in front of goal as when we hit our purple patch last season. If our boys have faith in themselves and the management, and the fans do likewise, we can not only beat City but be in the mix for the title as well.

Absolutely this!!!
There are a few players I would love to have seen developed under Poch's guidance - Jenas being one of them.

Remember he was only 18 when he was captaining Notts Forest, and even at Newcastle he was the main hub at a young age.

Very articulate, very underrated, he could have/should have been great for us!

I think we'll give them a real test. I'm wary of saying more but it's an encouraging sign that I no longer just hope for a draw at home to the big boys.
